I have been pushing off lvl 6 archers for awhile because I don't think 2 DBS and 4 extra health is worth 100 more elixir. What is your guys opinions?
Yes, it's worth it.
But, if you are expecting a big difference like from lvl4 to lvl5 then you will be disappointed.
Yes totally worth it.
Every little helps.
IMO they are the first troop you should upgrade when you hit th9. They can survive a lvl5 mortar hit + most clans require them so you have a better chance of getting in a good clan
Honestly, 100 elixir is way too small to balk on. Granted, my elixir storages are maxed most of time, but still... Better is better regardless of cost.
I've been protesting them ever since hitting TH9. All my other elixer troops have been done for ages and I'm just working on maxing my de troops research wise. I may upgrade them before heading to TH10, but we'll see how stubborn I choose to be.7.5 million and 14 days is just plain stupid... although I agree they look much cooler. Could care less about "getting into a good clan" as I would never join a clan that has a stipulation on troops that must be donated.
I hate archers as well. I only ever keep 20 per battle in case dragon is in CC to take them out. Never understood the fascination with them. Yes, I get it, they shoot over walls. Bravo. I'm always reminding people that the stats on goblins are actually much, much better when it comes to having a tier one troop in your cc. Stronger, more attack and a hell of a lot quicker.
... Plus. The hog rida' came to help them out on the field of battle and those stuck up archers turned him away and asked for barbs... the nerve of some archers!
Yes! Best tier one troop!
Speed isn't always a good thing in the clan castle, it can make them a lot easier to lure. Archers are much better in the clan castle if they decide to stay behind the walls and not to mention they target both ground and air. 1 minion can take out a full CC of goblins.
I agree the upgrade is a ripoff, but midway through TH9 elixer isn't a concern, so it's a "might as well" situation. For someone like me who uses barch all the time it makes sense to do barbs and archers first even though they aren't the best upgrades. Never seen someone that doesn't like archers, but they're quite useful especially in the CC.
I'll never understand why people think archers are good in a CC. My fave bases to raid have all archers in their CC. 25-30 all come streaming out with a quick barb or giant to draw them. Then a few more barbs to get them in one area and ZAP! I'll always say that archers are the worst (main) troop to have in a CC by far. I always carry one lightning with me just for that.
I love all these things that are facts. What makes it a fact? How about that everyone plays the game differently and views things like this differently. Me personally, I think archer is one of the worst, but that of course depends on your tactics and army use. I don't bam or barch so I'd rather fill that hole with more barbs, minions or wizards.
Fact.
At this point I'm waiting to start them(lvl6 archers) until my de drills are maxed and my army camps are upgraded.
Because any troops can be lure out in the same fashion, the only last step is how to take them down.
You decide to drop 30 minutes training time on those archer, cool.
Lets see how I take the rest down:
Giants (lol) in CC = 5-6 minions
Hogs in CC = 3-5 minions
Barbs (lol) = 2-3 minions
Goblin (lol) = 2-3 minions
Healer (lol)
Valk = 5-8 minions
Balloon = 3-5 minions
Dragons = 10-20 archers
and Wz = archers/minion
All of them takes less than 30 minutes and way cheaper than 22k Elixir.
How are they defense against air troops? Only Archers/Wz/Dragons/minions are relevant.
So yeah, it's not an exaggeration to say your opinion against archer as a CC idiotic.
Hey Driz.
As you probably know I put them off as well, I want value for money. I found Giants & Loons far better value for money and as such did them first.
Do them eventually obviously, but I honestly wouldn't rush. The 'must have lv 6 archers' obsession doesn't apply at Greed anyway so you don't have that part to stress over either.
Nice to see the forumers getting along like always. :rolleyes:
Considering I typically only use 2 spells per battle (as all archers is really only 2 or 3 out of 10 cc's I come across) the wait time you mention doesn't bother me one bit. And you mention drawing out all these other troops which is not always possible to get out of the reach of defenses. Only people who plan their base poorly give you this option. With lightning it is done quickly and can be done amidst opponents defense. Yes, it costs 22k, but I think you mentioning 2-6 minions to take care of all those others no problem is a bit baseless. Of course it is possible some of the time, but only when poor base plans allow for it. You also fail to mention the extra time this takes with more high hit points troops.
I've noticed from my short time here on the forums anyone who has an opinion different to yours is idiotic even if you supply a few "facts" (which are nothing more than personal opinions) to try and hero your case along. I guess I must learn from others and start using the mute button in some cases. It will make my time here much more pleasurable.
Barbs and giants are the best value but archers the most useful, i would go for what you use most first
I however am really enjoying your posts, a breathe of fresh air to the drone responses to topics around here. :)
I also carry one lightning in case of pesky CC troops, particularly full archers; much quicker to blast them all rather then waste time luring and killing.
You may waste a good 30 seconds and troops doing that. You only have 3 minutes per battle; waste too much luring you risk leaving yourself not enough time to get the loot.
What I've said wasn't personal opinion. It's not an opinion that a few minions can take out the whole clan castle providing that they're consist of ground-only troops. It's like 1+1 = 2, not an opinion. One can count the advantages of having archers in CC and compare it with the advantages of having goblin/barb in their clan castle as a defense troops. Sure you can still say that goblin is better, but I call that being in denial, not having an opinion.
Hell if I want to kill CC fast, I can spend a bit more troops to kill them, still better than dropping one of my valuable spell. 2 spells every battle means that you will eventually hit the wait wall, when you need to wait for more spells. You bragging about how goblin is better than Archer as a CC troop, but guess what, they can't target air troops, and they can be taken out with 1 lightning too!
Drawing out troops is not always possible, that's true. But you have the ability to choose the base, choose the one that has lurable CC troops. Use the troops that can lure CC (hogs, wall breakers, balloon or even giant). Don't sit there give me ♥♥ like an absolutely unlurable AND unskipable base, lol.
Sure, you can always ignore me, I couldn't care less. Good way to evade an argument though.
Hey im terraist i hate things that you like and that makes me cool and individual,Even though by hating them things it puts me into a category with everyone else who also hates the things you like and therefore im exactly the same as the people in my category and by default not individual:-(
Goblins will get killed by splash if you use them to break through walls
When I reached level9 town hall, giants were the first troops to be upgraded, as I felt they were the most important due to the style of attacking that I use. Archers are all good and well, and yes i do use them a lot in my cheap army but i wouldn't rush to get them done as level 6 balloons offer a whole new ball game, wb cause more damage and goblins are just so fast and deadly in a defensive cc.
i upgraded em first just cuz i use them ALWAYS
