I know there is a thread about items that you never make, but what about ones that you forget to make? For me it's bread. Now that we have the sandwich maker I am always out if bread, never having enough for boats or to help out. I found the perfect solution, I plunked the bread oven down in the middle of my fields to remind me to fill it up with bread, etc.
So what are your forgotten items and any solutions you have found to help you remember?
What a great idea with the bread machine!!!! I forget about bread sometimes too.
I forget to make cow feed...which is dumb because I go through so many dairy products...then I just end up buying milk lol

Butter is my downfall, my dairy is always at full production with cheese, goat cheese and cream and then I remember I need to make butter! But production queue is full! So I try and remember to go back to produce butter then invariably go and forget again!
Yep, bread but also grilled tomatoes :p.......those new machines have really changed what I make a lot of.
Fish and Chips and Baked Potatoes! I keep the grill going pretty much all the time, and those just never make it into the rotation. Probably because they are on the second page.
Coffee stuff. The coffee kiosk produces items so quickly it's often sitting there idle because I forgot to refill the queue.
I could add more slots, but it takes so much cream and sugar I usually can't fill the slots I currently have.
Bread, carrot pies, grilled tomatoes and goat food! Ugh!
I wish I had the space to stock up on items. My barn and silo are at 600 (at lvl 39). How big are some of your barns and silos?

I try to keep 10 of each item. Maybe more of items that get used to make other items (like sugar, cream, syrup). I keep less of things that are really quick to produce, like coffee products.
I'm struggling to find enough BEM and SEM items to continue to upgrade. Usually I can get one per week if I'm lucky. Any tips on getting more of them so I have room? Some people recommend disconnecting Hay Day, then reconnecting. This forces the newspaper to refresh, so you get first dibs on fresh ads. I don't bother to do this, but when Hay Day crashes, I use the opportunity to check the DD first when I re-start it, no matter how badly the cows need milking or how urgently Greg is waving.

I also search for mystery boxes while doing my newspaper trawls (using the tips in the toolbox thread).
There's nothing to do to get specific items more often, you just have to increase the instances of item generation.
Pets, running machines to produce lots of items quickly (loaves of bread instead of muffins, for example), harvesting crops that have shorter times to mature, etc.
Since the expansion items and other rewards are generated based on the number of instances of an action happening, you want to make that action happen as much as possible. That's why Wheating is effective, you are creating a lot more instances of the action of harvesting. So when you turn that wheat into chicken feed, and the chicken feed into eggs, you are creating lots of instances, and increasing the number of times you will get items.
I also agree that in a pinch the trade thread is a good place to look. Chances are good that you will find someone who needs what you have if ou are willing to put in the time to arrange the trade.
I just assume I have bad luck when finding the materials. They're usually gone before I get there. I'll keep trying though :)

Do you have one item you get a lot more of than others? Most farms do. You can speed up your expansion by trading the item you get a lot of for the others.
It is butter for me. I am so focused on keeping cheeses going, and maintaining the cream stock that I will be out or nearly out of butter, which I don't use as much as the other items, before I notice. Then the queues are full of cheese and cream so half the time I forget I need butter before I refill an emptied queue with something else.
I'm the same way. I want to fully expand my farm and fishing area. I have one plot left on my farm then I can work on the fishing area. I also want to expand the barn and silo as often as I can.Quote:

that sounds like a good system. Do you alter it at all if you have an order for one of them coming in? I just try to keep a minimum stock available, but it's always a challenge when I get orders or fill them for others.Quote:

It doesn't work for me. I do something similar, but still run short. Especially since goat cheese became available. You can only make a few of those a night, and that's if you don't make any regular cheese.
I guess I just use too much cheese. I make a lot of pizza and baked potatoes. The other stuff the grill and bakery make are easily available in the newspaper, so I rarely make them myself.
Well I got all my machines going for the night, last night, but forgot to make pig feed so my pigs were hungry when I got up thus morning and now I cant make things with bacon:mad:.
