[Discussion] BAM as a TH10

Greetings fellow forumers.

When I was still a young TH8, I saw that there is this strategy that everyone has been using. Tried it once, thought well this sucks and stoped using it. Then I got through TH8 and halfway through TH9, when upgrades started getting a bit more expensive and walls were getting a lot more expensive.

Of course I went straight on to the forums ( that's when I joined actually), in search of the magic 1 million gold/h. Everyone was talking about BAM, so I said to myself why not give it another shot. I tried it for a couple attacks and still couldn't get into it. But I didnt' want to give up so fast, so stuck by it for another day. That's when I saw the full potential of BAMing.

So I ended up pretty much maxing my TH9 with BAM, got a lot of walls done. Once my level 9 walls were close to finished, I decided it's time to get the TH10 goodies. Right when I started my TH10 upgrade, the loot system change was introduced. With the new system, I found very soon that it's not as profitable using BAM anymore. Now a standard Giant+Wb+tier 1 troops army, could be more efficient.

Since than I haven't really tried BAM, I had so much upgrades to do, with so little time, I really couldn't afford a bad farming day. So my question is this :

Is BAM still an eligeble and efficient attack strategy for a TH10 in the new loot system?

A friend of mine at TH10, still uses BAM - I've heard Gold I is the best for TH10 farming, so that's where he's at and he farms around 1.5-2.75m gold per hour with BAM (barracks boost). He also has all maxed troops except (with new update), he has level 5 minions. So I'd say try BAM around Gold I/Crystal III ranges.

Thanks for the quick response. That's sounds really impresive, I don't really buy gems, any idea what he does without the boost? I've been around Gold II/I for the whole time I've been at th10, so I agree loot is pretty good here.

Edit : I have maxed troops too, I find the goblins are especially great at level 6! So maybe add a little of them in the mix.. Minions will arrive in 15 days :)

It still works well but it only really shines when you have a boosted barracks. This way you can attack 15-20 times an hr. Otherwise it is less conventional to use. At 1500-1800, you can still get a ton of loot. 2-3m an hr with boost. No boost is around 800-1.2m on average. This worked well during the boost event. Not sure if you want to drop a few bucks for boosts. Just remember to be efficient. Spare as many as you can while maintaining cup range. Its all about consistent gold per hour.

Good point, but right now, while I'm working on my defenses, my builders are all a couple of days apart. So I don't really need that much gold/h. But once my defences are finished I'm going to do at least level 10 walls, then it'll come in handy. Guess I'll have to buy a couple of gems then.

I have found BAM to be lackluster at th10. Rocked at th9, but soso here. First, there just does not seem like there are that many collector raids out there. And the few I see are th8, which don't offer nearly as much loot as they used too. Second, the 1000 gold a next really sucks the profits out of your attacks. Especially if you settle and pop a 80k base.

I bet any raid comp can bring in millions per hour if you're raiding 15-20 times per hour. Lol

How many builds are actually able to do that though? Just BAM with boosts.

I know, right? I felt the same way, it just seemed like there were a lot less of them, and the ones that were, were about 120k-150k max. I had a couple of days of incredible luck, when there were 300k raids one after another for a couple of hours. So I agree completely, that's why I started the thread, to see if others were having the same experiences.

It might be a while before I start doing walls again, but I'll post my results if and when I do give it a shot.

On a side note : Has anyone found a good way to put some gobs in to the mix? Maybe two barracks archers, one gobs, one barbs and one or two for minions, depending on your DE available. What do you think?

That is exactly what I do. I like mixing in some gobs to take down storages/collectors a bit faster. It does slow your build down a bit though.
