Town Hall 8 to Masters [My Journey]

First off I'm gonna set it straight that this is not a guide. There are so many great guides on the forums for balloonions at town hall 8 so I don't think I need to make another one. For my army comp I used 26 balloons and 35 minions and two rage and one heal spell. I felt that this worked perfectly because that lvl 5 balloons don't have the hp that lvl 6 have so you will need more of them.

I decided to do this because I thought that it would be awesome and I needed to show all my friends that I could do this. My clan pushstarted February 1st but I overestimated the time it would take to get to masters so I started 2 days early, on January 30. I started at about 1400 trophies and just sniped my way up to 2000. I got tired because it got late so I called it quits and trained my first balloonion army for the next day.
The next day January 31st I woke up to find that I had won 80 trophies from defense! I was raiding nonstop and blew through 400 gems that day and finished at about 2330. Today I woke up but was only able to get to 2380 before I had to go paintballing. When j got back home, I set my mind to getting to 2500 by tonight. But I kept pushing on and found myself at 2500 with time left. At the normal time I go to sleep I had 2525 but I wasn't about to give up yet. The only problem was I was moving at such a slow speed. Everyone was max town hall 10 or 9 and I had to search for over 30 mins for some raids. But lo and behold at about midnight I hit masters with a +22 raid.

I would like to specially thank my clan BloodOath for helping me and giving me troops that without them I couldn't have gotten to masters. I would also like to say thanks to a clan mate who gave me an iTunes gift card to help out. I just wanted to share this so I may be able to inspire someone to try this just as I did. I will keep going and am hoping for masters 2. I would be happy to answer any questions and pm me if you need anything extra. Sorry about the blurness of picture. Here it is for proof

Congrats! But how and why did it take 400 gems to get to masters? I assume you also boosted barracks?

Nice job! I know what it's like. Just bc other ppl have done it, doesn't mean its not a good accomplishment. Enjoy those 1000 gems!

The gems I used were for spell factory and I ran out of elixir once.

Well, lesson learned! Always go push with a full tank at least, and don't lose, I highly depend on the league bonus. :)

Everyone was max town hall 10 or 9 and i had to search for over 30 mins for some raids. But lo and behold at about midnight i hit masters with a +22 raid.

Congrats mate for this one of a kind achievement. Town hall8 at masters is simply amazing. I expected you would reach crys2/1 but you surpassed my expectations :) 👍 only 2nd day of our push and you have achieved it. Really impressive. Keep up the good work ! Cheers !

Hey man, first of all I would like to say that good job on getting to Master III with TH8. I know how hard it is because i tried to also push to Master III with TH8 but failed and only got to reach to 2485 cups. But I do have a few question and I would be glad if you could answer them

Question #1: How many hours have you played til you log off?
#2: Did you just use balloonion to raid or did you use other army combos?
#3: How did your defense go? I suppose you are often attacked by hogs or loonion.. How much cups are you normally losing for defense?

#1: My push was 2 days, the first was sniping up to 2k trophies and I played a few hours that day. The next day I used balloonions and played almost all day. Was kicked offline 2 times. I got to masters past midnight.

#2 I just used balloonion. I felt that it would give me the best chance to get to masters.

#3: My defense didn't go so well as one would expect. The first day I finished at 2k but Gaines 100 trophies on defense (people just taking me de). After that everyone played a game called massacre Jordan. I was attacked by hogs once and balloonion once. I forget the other armies. I got revenged and lost 44 and 52 trophies on 2 revenges. I don't blame the people for revenging me, I was an easy target as th8 in masters. Other than that on regular attacks I lost anywhere from 15-34 trophies and within 2 minutes of me logging off, I was 100%ed. I truly hope this helps you achieve your goal of master

I coulda done it easily in 2 weeks without gems. I just chose to do it with gems and got it done quicker

congrats!

I failed really bad on my push to masters at TH7...

I got to crystal 3 really easily with barch, no TH snipes...

I was a completely maxed TH7... (except for hogs which were upgrading to lvl 2, but that finished a few days after I started pushing)

and...I failed...bad...I gave up... I could only make it to 2085 trophies...lol...

and then here at TH8 I set a new highest trophy record of 2110 trophies while farming...lol...

im gonna push to master once I max my TH8. just 19 walls left...i'll also have to get my elixir back up to 6M lol. its went down so much since I changed my farming base to a trophy base...im down to 2.5M elixir lol...

Gonna snipe to 2000 (although with war, people are protecting TH a ton more). Last push (crystal 1 max) i used hogs at first, got 13 3 star wins in a row. I have lv6 hogs and lv6 heal. Then i switched to elixir stuff. (Didn't have lv6 balloons then) so I used giants, wb, barb/archer. Now gonna use balloons and minions in the upper levels. It'll be easy, I hope. Im not even a maxed TH9 (though max maxed mortars and wizard towers) but I think I'll manage nicely. I have 1/3 of my walls at lv8. Rest 2/3 are lv7. I place walls at strategic locations so it works out quite well even though limited amount of lv8 walls. Plan of doing it monday. Have day off on Mondays. My current clan is inactive due to the fact its finals month so I'm gonna join a top, lv100+ clan for troops.

You can get master easily with a simple barch combo in one night with no gems

Congrats on making it to master league at th8! I did the same, but I don't have a picture to share :(. I mainly barched (half sniping, half barching weak snipers) to 2500, then used hogs lvl 4 to get me to 2607. Have luck getting to master II! :D

Lol. I got master last week. Actually, after I got master, 4 of my clan members also went to master. Another TH10, 2 TH9, and a TH8(ikr TH8, He surprised me too). Your post motivated me to push and thus 4 more have done it and 3-6 more are heading there too!

Nice work! I remember how hard it is to push to master with TH8 especially at high c1. I'd been to m3 with TH8 too but I'm using barch/giant healer at that time and it took me around 1 week to reach there start from gold 3 without spending gems. Basically the key to that high is to stay online as long as possible and do not lose any attack. 😄
