I am the leader of PENNIES 2 and one of my members was wondering how to get elder. I said right now it's of donations, but idk what to make it now. What are some ideas that you leaders out there have that I can consider for my clan? How do your members earn elder and your elders earn co-leader? (Although I know that very few get co-leader) Thanks for all ideas!

Also depending on situation, perhaps co-leader can be rotated among elders matching timezones. But i would recommend not to have more than 2-3 co-leaders at any point in time for a 50 member international clan.
First of all assess the situation. Dont just give out elder/co-leader positions just to please people or as a reward. The whole idea pf tese higher positions are to help you as a leader.
Do you frequently recieve join requests at times where you are not online due to work or sleep? Appoint a few elders from different time zone to help accept people
Are you not the most active player? Have times where you cannot play for several days? Appoint a co-leader to be there for your clan for whatever they need.
Giving out these roles just to stroke peoples ego's is a waste of time in my oppinion. Use them in the ways they where intended and watch your clan grow and run smoothly :)

What I do in my clan is, I limit the number of people that are promoted. I do that so at every time there would only be around like, 5/30 or 10/50 people that are elders ad around 1/30 or 2/50 people are col-leaders. That way they should get a feel that the positions aren't just free-for-all's.
If they start asking about the standards of promotion, tell them that it's not only about the donations, but also about the trophy count or the ratio between donations and received-troops, or it could also be about that person's activity in the clan chat or his attitude towards other clan members (if you have time to observe him). How about hosting a mini-clan challenge to see who would donate or gain trophies the most in a set amount of time? Then reward the highest player with a promotion.
That's all I'd do.
When you account for all the powers that co-leader has you're pretty much looking at a second leader rank. I highly suggest only giving co-leader rank out if you have absolute trust, enough where you would give Leader to that person and not worry that he won't take advantage of it. The co-leader rank has every power that the leader holds so it's a huge step up from giving someone elder
Be careful..I was in a good clan and a new member donated 4000 the first season...got elder and kicked everyone. Leader was MIA.
I think it should be a combination of time and donations.
I'm done with this position thing xD Bad traits comes out when the situation inside the clan happens to be out of my expectation if I get a higher position in clan.This game have taught me alot about my true character and since quitting the home clan, have promised myself to be more careless, no attachment and be a more free spirited clasher :)
Elder should be a major badge of honor. Award for high donations in addition to activity and general friendliness.
Co-Leader are Core clan mates that we may meet or talk IRL. In fact, Leader organise a pay-ownself dinner catchup last year for those around (which I'm not).
They won't simply do something stupid, or at least you know the person character, attitude, etc.
We have a Co which is a bit selfish with donations, but is ok, at least we know his pattern.
Elder - rest of those who are seniors. Our elder rank can be equivalent to Co in other clans.
We have quite a few members promoted to Elder, stagnant and not happy. Left the clan. Recently a few come back, but was not promoted (yet) back to Elder. They just keep quiet, and we access them from beginning all over again.
Donations, responsibility, donate more than receive, good in CW, use both attacks, helps out to fill in war CC, etc.
We are going to promote 1 or 2 back to Elder soon. And this takes 1-2 months. Some can't wait that long ...
Recently also, Leader started to co-share and rotate leadership on a monthly basis. Current "Leader" is more strict/cruel and rejected some members from coming back :p This scares some other members though ... :p
In my clan, it's a little different because I know a lot of the players in real life. I know (in real life) all four of my co-leads. 3 of which are the most active (chat activity, donations in and out of war, advice given to members, etc) in the clan alongside myself and the 4th is a player who is in the opposite time zone (we are all in the US, he is in Korea).
My elder positions are earned by activity, length of stay, donation count/ratio. The last thing I want is to make someone elder because they had a high donation count their first season with us, then kick people out of the clan. Especially those who we do not know in real life.
