This is a wonderful idea but I think more people would probably choose 2x Upgrading time or speed up of things with gems. It would make it not as op because then lvl 11 mine/pumps would be so OP everyone would be Maxed Out LVL 10 TH by about a year of this.

How about we have this instead of gemming collectors? Gemming collectors is more expensive then receiving the resources. This is a good idea and should be implemented.

I think this is a good idea. A suggestion I would make would be that, if I have a lvl 11 mine/collector and I want to use a builder to "work" on said mine/collector, the builder would be Working for the corresponding amount of hours without the ability to take him off prematurely. And as for the CD on this feature I would say that it scales with the level of mines/collectors/drills.
An example for those who like them, a builder would work on a lvl 11 mine for all 11 hours. After the work is done, that mine would have an 11 hour CD for another "work session" but could still be gemmed.
Overall great idea and i would love to see this thread stay alive.

True. For many players this feature would not be useful most of the time as they keep their builders busy, but for other players of all TH levels who struggle to keep their builders busy for whatever reason, this feature would help keep them from being discouraged : ) And then there are other cases too like with capped players or players who are staying at a certain TH level to grind walls/heroes who would also find this useful!Quote:

I like the idea, but just 1 thing- Say it boosts the production by 2x, gemming it should increase it another 2x and make it 4x, not 3x. Would promote people to gem and do this at the same time, I'm sure it would help SC have more people gemming collectors (and getting the 5th builder)
This is an awesome idea that I've thought of before too, but I don't think SC would like people being to x2 boost production rate for free! :eek: I think the biggest production rate bonus SC would allow for free with builder huts would be x1.25 and then gemming can bring it to x2.5. Although everyone would of course prefer it to be x2 for free, tons of people will start not to gem and then SC will lose money!

Great thread! It would be awesome if this was implemented, and I don't see many reasons why this would be bad for Clash of Clans or Supercell. They made walls have the option of being upgraded by elixir, so why not give builders the option of boosting mines/collectors/drills? Good for wall farmers who have maxed out everything else, Supercell make more money from the higher demand for builders, and just gives more options for a player's macro strategy overall!
Maybe lowering the boost rates or making a cost for builder boosting would be more ideal for the game in general, it balances out the advantages for Supercell and Clashers
Didn't read much besides OP. I think if supercell were to implement this it would be more balanced and if I were a developer I would do something like this:
1- work function lasts 24 hours, available at level 5. Builder cannot be removed during the 24 hours.
2- work function increases resource production by 50% and does not stack with boost.
3- one builder per mine, no limit on number of builders that can work mines.
Great idea that I wish supercell would implement.

I love this idea! However, I have one suggestion. I think mines and collectors should only have a 1.5x boost. My reasoning behind this is that if a player can pay a small number of gems to boost it to 2x, why have another option with the same boost effectivity that doesn't cost gems? If it was 1.5x, it would still be better than having a sleeping builder, but it would be slightly worse than using gems. This way people would still have incentive to boost using gems, keeping SC from losing the profit they currently make from players boosting their collectors.
EDIT: Woah, that last sentence was a mouthful.
I'd love to put 2 builders on an upgrade to cut the time it finishes in half. They could do that.
You can already speed up building by using gems. If you have a reason not to buy gems SC goes out of business. So no, they can't.Quote:

Great idea. This would allow collectors to have more use, and would allow players to use their builders if they don't have enough for an upgrade.
The only reason I can see why it would be bad for SC to implement something along these lines is a loss of gems being bought because people can make resources faster. Sure, there's the triple boost gem feature, but I still think the majority of people would be either be content with double boosting or gemming resources the normal way.
I love the idea! Someone finally posts a usefull thread for the builders ;). It would also be really helpfull while upgrading walls! No cost would be logical in my opinion. Keep up the great work!

I dont see any problems with it just that Supercell would rather you just gem the mine and keep the builder idle because it means you are operating at (1-(n-1/n)(*100%) efficiency... where n is the number of builders you have... if you operate at 100% efficiency all the time then you are less likely to gem a time upgrade.

However it is quite sad how we have to add some sort of gemming scheme to our ideas to even give them a slight chance of being implemented.

Now that level 12 collectors are a thing, we can all say goodbye to this thread now.
Level 12 collectors only added 500 production, and I barely notice it. This idea would be very nice to implement, especially for some walls upgrades, or being maxed on every building at the end of a town hall.Quote:

Great idea mate. I'm at town hall 8 and am finding now that I have so much elixir I can only spend gold and have to save up around 2million for every upgrade (apart from walls.) This would allow me to get gold at a quicker rate, however would the maximum storage still be the same or would the builder increase that for his "shift"

This idea isnt very complex, original, doable, and would benefit alot of people. Specifically rushers who now realized their mistake and struggling to repair it because of heavy loot penalty. And i think they are the ones who usually have free builders, so, awesome idea bud!

When you don't have enough resources for an upgrade it would be great if we could put one of our builders to work to gain more resources quicker so they can get back to upgrading.
