Hello, 40 obstacles is the max a base can have. If your base layout is spread out, then the chances of a new obstacle to appear are drastically reduced.
I dont care about obstacles i want my base looks pretty :caticon:
Wow this is old
First off some people have already stated some factual data on obstacle spawn mechanics but many theories are being taken too seriously as factual... Here are some FACTS
45 obstacles is the most that can be on your map at one time.
The areas around player built objects where enemies can not spawn also prevent most obstacles from spawning trees, bushes, rocks, etc. (This does not include gem boxes or holiday obstacles like Xmas trees and Halloween cauldrons.) Therefore a more compact base does offer more room for obstacles to spawn but a large base will not prevent them from spawning. UNLESS you fill the entire map with your base and decorations every other tile your not going to prevent them from spawning any faster or slower or at all. (If this is the base you have, obstacles will still spawn on the outer perimeter where you cannot place buildings but since your base is so large you probably don't have many existing obstacles therefore reducing your spawn rate overall. (Read below for explanation)
Existing obstacles do not negativity affect the spawn rate of new obstacles but in fact they INCREASE the spawn rate of new obstacles. I maintain 25 of the most expensive obstacles like rocks (10k gold), trees (10k elixir) and I maintain a daily minimum of 3 new spawns per day sometimes more. I typically let about 5-8 build up and then I collect the least expensive ones first but I never go below 25. (I've collected 36 gems from 8 objects in one instance before but they are always fruitful.)
Unless one is a gembox, that's not true.
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...obstacle+order
gems appear from obstacles in a fixed order, no one can refute that
(it averages 2 per obstacle)
How would that restrict anything? I removed 8 objects 3 days ago I got 36 gems that's a FACT. I didn't say I removed the last 8 objects to spawn, I said I removed 8.. I remove clusters usually and the cheaper ones first but some yield 5 or 6 gems... 36 from 8 is a 3 average (edit: 4.5 average, captains post-buster here got me flustered lol), totally possible and highly probable. Next time you want to refute a factual offering of knowledge get your own facts straight first.
Actually I have a test for you... Get 25 objects on your map then let another 10 or so spawn.. After which randomly pick 8 and remove them.. Do this 5 times and I'll do a virtual handshake I'll wire you a $100 if you don't average more than 2 average on at least 1 of the 5 samples. Probably even 2 of them will average higher than 2 gems per obstacle.
If you got 36 gems from 8 obstacles that would be an average of 4.5, not 3.
Also, the spawn limit for obstacles is 45, not 40.
Lastly, constantly writing the word fact in upper case generally means that whatever you are asserting to be a fact is less likely to be factual, not more.
So first off, I only said FACT in caps one time at the very beginning of my post I was tying to help people out with knowledge obtained from CoC update notes and proper testing/sampling of game mechanics. I restated it when one the very common forum trolls decided to start trying to picking apart things without reading it fully through.. And my math was off sorry it frustrates me more than you could ever know when a-holes do that to people trying to help others. I write guides too and anyone else who does this shares this common experience.. Your right it's average 4.5. But everything in the original post before captain post-buster chimed in is factual and true.
Secondly unless a new update log has been released recently the max spawn is 40, if you can spawn 45 then it was either patched/changed and not mentioned in the last update or it's a bug just like many of the users not getting any spawns at all.
Unfortunately, as the obstacle limit was increased a couple of updates ago (I believe it was the December update), you stating a limit of 40 was not factual or true.
I am not sure whether the change made it into the update logs, but it has been confirmed by staff posting on the forum.
