Ok, real feedback coming...
So I like it for 3 reasons.
1. I would win most if not all of the automatically given awards. Free gems!!
2. Help promote the social part of CoC and make it better and more interesting
3. Make clan mates more loyal and better donaters
I think this should be considered by SC as a way to improve the game.

Which makes me realize that all clans could exploit this by rotating who gets the gems.
If this happens there will be a new type of clan: Awards clan. It is for getting gems and taking advatage of the system.
Not sure how we can fix this, but will need to find a way.
I did think about that when making my original post, however, the amount of gems that are available to be won really isn't that much when you take into consideration the amount you are liable to gain from obstacles or achievements, so there really is very little overall risk for the amount of gems available.Quote:

Question: Would a single member be able to win more than one award? For example, could the highest donator also win best pusher?
Comment: I think people always try to find a exploit "free" gems. Although you have a addressed exploits in your original post, someone has already thought up "award clans." So if for some reason the gem thing didn't work out and they weren't awarded, I still think this idea is golden! I would love to receive some free gems because I was the highest donator but the pretty badge next to name would also make me happy :)
