The donation ratio - troops received versus troops given - is arguably the most misunderstood aspect of this game... A player can only control how much he plays/requests - and has zero control over others. Yet, people act like you can and it can cause a lot of needless drama.
I propose going back to troops donated only.
It is useful to have, people are just irrational about it. How about only having it show if your ratio is 1:3 or worse. Anyone who can't do better than that deserves a boot.
ONot necessarily... Say I donated 2,000 troops - but received 6,000 troops back. The conventional wisdom at the moment is that I'm not pulling my weight. And that is possible.Quote:

What if many members are simply sitting on shields and not requesting - they are donating and not requesting themselves, then it would be literally impossible for me - someone who actively attacks - to have a better ratio... I could sit online for hours, hoping people requested, and still not match that ratio. The only way would be to become less active (attack less and request less) - which would be lame.
Ironically, this system has the unintended consequence of rewarding people who don't attack/use their cc troops...
What lots of people don't seem to realize is number donated must equal number requested. Anyone with a positive ratio means there must be others with a negative one.
People just need to use common sense when viewing the numbers.
I think if this is actually a problem in a clan, then you need to get a new clan with people who can understand basic math. I find it hilarious when I see clans who have the rule of "MUST" have a 1:1 donation ratio. It's just silly.
My clan is a good example as we have plenty of TH4-6 and then 5-6 of us at max TH9-10. Obviously us at the higher levels do not want their lower level troops but we are happy to help them out with our maxed troops so the donations reflect this. I normally donate 3000-5000 troops but have never requested more than 1400 since started (I only use mine for defense and typically receive 600-700). This means by simple math that we have a few people who usually have 2000-3500 requested but less than 1000 donated. Do any of us care? Of course not as we are a clan and are happy to help each other out.
Mooches are easy to spot and thin out.
