I would like your honest opinion if you find it realistic to complete level 9 and 10 without geming. I will max my TH8 in a few weeks and bought gems to get 5 builders in the beginning. Even if I like many of you find the loot situation bad I know I will be able to max TH8 with tesla 6 á 3 milion gold as worst part. Expensive but doable.
On TH9 it seems like every upgrade is 5-6 milion or more. I think the economy was made for TH8 as max level and 9-10 for gemers.
To max defences yes it's very possible and easy to max TH9 and TH10. It just takes time and players need to forget what life was like at TH8 and below. You're now in the 8 to 14 day upgrade stage.
To max walls and heroes, yes it's possible, just not very realistic. I estimate only a handful of players will ever do it and even they will spend low amounts on boosts etc.
If you have limited patience, than it may *appear* that TH9 and 10 are for heavy gemmers only.
However, you will find many examples of people who have maxed TH9 or even nearly maxed TH10 having spent a very limited number of gems.
I maxed my TH9 defences long ago but walls suck.
It's very possible to max th9 without gemming. It's a lot different from TH8, but the upgrades not only cost more, but take longer. So you'll have more time to farm between builders. I'm fairly new to TH9 (just a hair over 30 days) and I've gotten all new defenses up to par with my previous ones from TH8, have both x bows at L1, all mortars are L7, 2 WTs are building to L7 and I'm 1 mil gold shy of starting a third one. On top of all that I've maxed all bombs and traps and my BK is 13 and AQ is L9, and all walls are L8 with 63 of them at L9. I've spent no gems.Quote:

Thank you for good answers. If I decide sculls is enough even on TH 9 I think the total amount gold is about the same as a complete TH8 (walls included for TH8). The big difference seems to be storing so much loot without getting robbed all the time. Now my top upgrades are 2-3 milion and I use to start one each day. And when I build walls I never leave much gold, so I'm not attacked so much.
My first response is yes. I am nearly a maxed Th9, all farming.
However, if you still want to have fun - pick heros or walls to grind - not both and even then don't shoot for 100% maxed
I've focused on have at least 1 hero upgrading at all times (once I was out of the new th9 phase). I have a lvl 15 archer queen and won't have an issue of hitting lvl15 with my BK before th10. But I am not sticking around th9 to get lvl 8 walls and lvl 30 heros......
From my pushes I honestly don't see the need for lvl 8 walls. There great but most players are using hogs and balloons. That and lvl 7 walls will hold there ground. Lvl 8 is better, and 9 is intimidating but experienced players aren't going to be phased anyway.
Time wise the upgrades take some patience for sure but I can see not needing to gem. The new improved loot system make this unlikely tho. Im alrdy frustrated at th9 and have taken to boosting barracks to make the game playable. I imagine Ill have to bounce by mid th10. So possible yes but you wouldnt want to. Imagine what kinda ♥♥♥♥ a th11 will have to go through. What a joke that will be.
I buy a few gems here and there ( in 500's ) for gemming SF and donating troops, so I wouldn't say I "gem". I think it is very realistic you can max all defenses/buildings without spending what "gemmers" have spent. £3 here and there is hardly hardcore cash.
This is a long term game, you either play, or you pay. I am a player, and find it rewarding watching my village grow from the efforts I have put into it.
Only things that aren't so realistic, but can still be done, are heroes and walls. Apart from that, yes, none gemmers can max their bases.
I think many of us have farmed to a pretty good level of base, so yeah it's certainly possible - there are two commodities here - time OR money maxing TH10 is going to cost you either way.
Max plus lvl 11 walls and lvl 40 heroes is another matter, i've not hear of anyone who had yet managed to do that by pure farming although I am sure there are plenty on the way.
