I am wanting to use BAM however I am sure of how many of each and how to actually use the troop combo well

Before stalling your DE accumulation, I would advise leveling up your minions to level 3. It really helps the strategy.
ONCE YOU DO THAT
I would just continuously fill two barracks with barbs, two with archers, and two with minions.

A decent size group of minions with 1 rage spell can wipe out a DE storage very quickly. Now to the strategy part. The key to BAM is speed of attacks. Used properly you can get in up to 10 attacks per hour unboosted and you can farm way more DE than the slugs who use BARCH. How do you do that you ask....here's how:
1. Fill up all of your barracks, 2 with barbs, 2 with archers, and both dark barracks with minions.
2. Once you hit about 180 troops start searching for bases. The goal is to find collector raids but you can get to DE storages using minions and 1 rage spell.
3. Once you find a collector raid use ONLY enough troops to get the loot! Don't worry about trying to 50% bases, that just wastes time. Get the loot with as few troops as possible so you can raid more.
4. Always snipe ths to maintain trophys (this is how you get in 10 attacks per hour).
5. For DE raids clear the outer buildings with your barbs and archers and then send in a couple minions in different spots to clear those air bombs. Once the path to the DE is clear send in the rest of your minions and take all the DE. When I was th8 I was PROFITING 4-6k DE per hour on top of my gold with this method.
6. Many times you are going to end up with a ton of minions because many collector raid only require you to use the barbs and archers...but this is great, it allows you to have some fun with mass minion! Just make sure you check for those air bombs!
