IT Disco - TH9 Skip to TH10?!

So I am fairly half way through my TH9 adventure and I am looking to max my base before moving onto TH10. However, today I experienced a couple of 'Fail' raids against TH10 and IT discos which has led to me question... Could it be worth moving onto TH10 without maxing TH9 completely?

The reasoning behind this is largley due to the new IT disco mode. I have recently decided to take on a few pre-mature TH10's with IT fully loaded. I was aiming to get the 100 gems by defeating 10 IT.
However, having level 6 troops, I still managed to fail miserably to get to the centre of the base. (Note this was done without Hogs as I do not have them level 4 or 5).

Many of these bases were no where near maxed or even half way, yet because they have their IT in the centre on disco mode, it killed off majority of my troops instantaneously (yes with the help of 3 x-bows and other defensive buildings).

Eventually though, I did manage to defeat 10 IT to get the 100 gems woooohooo!! :D

Back on topic, I want to hear all your views on whether the risk of moving to TH10 not fully maxed could be worth it due to the IT disco appeal or could it be a game ending IQuit decision?

If you max splash damage, air defenses, and x-bows first (maybe Teslas, as they are very good point defenses)


The loot disadvantage isn't worth the defense advantage - BUT if your a skilled raider and have the critical defenses maxed out, extra levels to cannons and archer towers pale in comparison to 2 level 1 infernos.


BUT you will have to raid TH9 players or Th10 players. Right now TH9 are not easy to find (we are in hiding)

I'd also get those hogs up to level 5 before you do it. These and maxed heal spells will allow you to spank TH9 players. Max healers can be used as a way to reduce spell use.


Also Balloons are a good idea, especially with the new minion level coming.

EDIT: I have no idea what army comp can effectively farm a Th10 player.... those infernos pretty much kill any cheap/fast army

NO, absolutely not. Your defense is not as important as your loot penalty. So stick to your Th9 and max it when your loot is good.

In addition: winning defense will give you NOTHING, so why even try to win?

I've already made my move to TH10 without maxing 9. The freeze spells and IT seem more than worth it in my opinion.

I don't see a reason to wait when someone with lvl 4 defenses and gold walls have 2 disco inferno towers...

Once you have your offense maxed and your splash maxed id say go for it if you want to, myself im trying to max th9.

Because he definitely cant progress faster than a th9 (unless of course he decides to spend much more time on the game)

Your progressing speed is the most important thing here. Once you go to th10, it'll drop significantly, since now you cannot raid those juicy th8 for more than 400k resources anymore. You will have to stick to fighting th9-10.

Before you upgrade, you must have:

- Lvl 8 Walls
- Lvl 7 Mortar/AD/WT
- Archer Queen
- Lvl 3 X-Bows x2
- Clan Castle Lvl 5

Then your good to go :/

I still say you should have at least a few canon lvl11 and Archer tower to lvl 10. The xbows should be maxed as well. Your teslas should be at least lv6 and your air defense should be lvl6 minimum as well (very critical).

Because once you hit th10, you will be occupied by hundred of things that you won't have enough time to focus on those stuffs until a loooooong loooong time later.

If your an active player (take more than what is taken from you) i would max th9. Those juicy th8's you need to hold on to as long as you can. So easy raiding bases with no xbows

I would wait. This is my base and even though I want th10 and those shiny discos I'm waiting. Id advise to do the same. You won't catch up and if you do it will take a lot longer
