New to the game, casual player with a question

Hello all,

I’m new to Clash of Clans and am really enjoying it. I’m a casual player not interested in PvP, joining a clan or raiding, just want to play the game and am hoping you can help me out with no judgment. My village was attacked last night for the first time since I started. How do I know if it was another player or an AI goblin raid? I assume the latter but am not sure. -thanks a bunch-

It should be a player.

AI will not attack your village, only players do. I'll advise you to start raiding other players also, a lot of players are inactive and it will help you progress faster

Their collectors (gold mines and elixir collectors) are usually full and this is indicative of an inactive player. Also the builders asleep can be another hint. Tombstones around a village can also suggest an inactive player.

If you want my opinion, you shoud join a clan and raid, unless you are just going to wait until your storages are filled.
And thats going to take a long time.

This is true as upgrade prices increase exponentially...you will find it very painfully boring.

Thanks all and I appreciate the feedback. I have to think about if I want to continue down the raiding road. I am a new mother with lots of time awake in the middle of the night and am enjoying mindlessly building things, upgrading and attacking goblins. :)

Thats fun to do but in a couple weeks buildings start getting more expensive and without raiding it will take days/ weeks to get the resources without raiding. Also the goblins levels get harder and at a certain point you won't be able to complete them. Raiding is essential in this game..

I do know what you mean, but I don't even think about it as PvP. Sure it may be another players base, but they aren't online when you attack. So it is very much like you are raiding a computer base.
