So..... I was thinking.
We have some of the best clans in the game represented here - what would YOU consider to be good advice for clans around the new structure.
How many Co-Leaders?
How many Elders?
How will your clan decide who get's what - geography, donations, trusted long time people?
I'd like to hear your thoughts on your clan's plans.
Let's say you have 50
1/50 Leader
5/50 Co-Leaders
12/50 Elders
32/50 Members
I am a leader, so I will say what I will do as leader.
I have picked 7 candidates (only elders) that I trust and only members can vote for elders. The elders and I will collect the votes for candidates. I will appoint co-leaders on the most voted, the numbers of co-leaders will vary, but the number won't exceed 5 co-leaders.
Let's say the votes resulted like this:
Candidate #1: 30
Candidate #2: 10
Candidate #3: 7
Candidate #4: 3
Candidate #5: 0
Candidate #6: 0
Candidate #7: 0
Only top 3 will be co-leaders
Let's try this:
Candidate #1: 15
Candidate #2: 12
Candidate #3: 10
Candidate #4: 8
Candidate #5: 3
Candidate #6: 1
Candidate #7: 1
Only top 4 will be co-leaders
Like I said it will vary. You can try voting. Normally the longest and kindest elders will win. After the co-leaders have been appointed I will appoint more elders. Although they can get themselves demoted easily. If someone demanded co-leader he will automatically be demoted/kicked/banned/not ever going to be co-leader.
That's just me.
Probably most trusted, experienced and active elders will get co-leader. It's a toughie though.
Most clans already have 'co-Leaders' in place (Like my own) but just no tag to give them.
i can see:
1 Leader
2 Co-Leaders
Elder amount up to the clan itself i suppose
the rest members.
Most strong clans are tight knit so anyone who hands out this power and then their clan is ruined has only themselves to blame.
Not going to change much for my clan as we have members since day 1 and are the trusted few.
i'm an elder in mine and like the ability to accept or reject people.
we have chats on kik among elders for any issues that arise and our ship is sound.
i do see the worry of hierarchy aggravating some in other clans but not in ours.
we just now have the ability to give the right people the notoriety they deserve! ;)
For me Co-Leader would have to be based on activity (never stop talking in clan chat) and how long they stay in the clan also h=ow much they bump the clan thread on the forums or how much they post on GB etc. I would have 1-5 Co-Leaders but it depends who you trust.Quote:

Amount of elders don't really matter due to the limited power and authority. My clan has had at least the same 30 players since december 2012, they are obviously all elders now. We have obviously had newer and great players in too, so probably around 35-40 would be elder. Co-leader should be maxed at 3, even more than 2 is chancy. Lets not forget that they are basically leaders now, without having the clan in their name. All it takes is a fight between two co-leaders; bam! The clan is hyper booted.
I think a coleader for each time zones is a good idea? We'll not every time zone, my clan has handfuls of people in Australia, the us and the uk, so maybe one or two from each.
You have to make sure that the co-leaders are friendly, calm, and won't fight.Quote:

I vote for an amount of maximum 5 co-leaders (but do not really mind if there is not limit for co-leaders, the leader should be to blame if things get out of hand) and at the same time this limit could be used as an excuse for rejecting co-leader petitions (of course, only if all co-leaders spots are full).
In higher level clans 95% of the members are elders, unlimited co-leaders could definitely lead to some tension, and this could be a solution.
I quite like the idea of a couple of Co-leaders. Its spreads out the responsibility for the clan and helps keeping the runnings smooth.
I think ideally not al co-leaders are in the same time zone if possible, but first and foremost sounds like it should be people you trust to do the right thing for the clan. People who are not shy to make a decision and someone who you would trust with 'Leader' should you hop out of the clan on visits or whatevs.
Unless you are brand new to the game, I think just about everybody would have come across clashers of this calibre whom this position would not only suit well but it would also be a well deserved recognition as a trusted valued clan mate.

We've been discussing this amongst our current elders and seem to be edging towards just making 1 elder a co leader, and elaving everything else the same.

I would have to say 3-4 max co-leader and 10-15 elders! otherwise if a clan has more elders/leader then the entire point of being promoted to an elder gets jeopardized! different clans have different requirements for promoting a member to an elder so i can only talk for Quantum United that being an elder requires hard work! talking for my self now i am only 2 months in QU but by making videos/threads/recruitment actions i got the eldership!
Concluding i believe it is a neutral addition to the update, it's not an amazing change of the gameplay but it's not something negative either!
My thoughts:
1 Leader
4 Co-Leaders (is there going to be a limit on co-leaders?). If there is no limit on co-leaders then these will just replace elders.
10 - 15 Elders, if as the forum posts have suggested elders have no rights i.e. not allowed to kick or promote to elder as currently allowed to do so then I don't see the point of having Elders (please tell me if this is not the case). At the moment an Elder can promote to Elder and can't be kicked by a clan member or other elder. The only benefit that will remain is not being kicked by an elder or clan member.
Our clan is always full and quite often some of our elders will leave to visit other clans/friends to donate, assist etc. Due to time differences there won't always be a Leader/Co-Leader on to promote back to elder when they return.
Elders should be be able to promote to Elder and kick clan members for bad behaviour, breaking the rules, inactivity etc.
Co-Leader should be able to promote to co-leader and elder, kick elders and clan members and post clan messages.
Leader has all privileges.

I'm clanless, so take this with a grain of salt or ignore.
For international clans, at least three co-leaders to cover the major timezones with two additional co-leaders for counsel. It needs to be an odd number so that you won't have deadlock when a vote is needed.
Funnily enough, I had five elders who were my inner counsel when I led BIAC.
1 leader
2 co-leaders (maximum 3)
20 elders
the rest members
But this is for my clan, i am leader and im giving co leader to the two most active chatty long time members i have witch are pretty much co-leaders already.
Hope this does not cause any drama, but if it does i´ve got two more people to help out :P
id say maybe 2-3 coleaders max, and the no of elders depends on the clan

2 Co-leaders (like a right hand and left hand man)
-must be trusted by the leader himself and the whole clan
-must be active enough to carry the leader's role during OL hours
10 elders.
They act and will act as the jury during decisions such as kicking a member, creation of new clan, and the works
the rest is members!
Two co leaders and maybe 20 elders since they really don't do much anymore
We've yet to have the conversation, but my recommendation to the group will be 1-2 co-leaders. I'm very happy with this feature, as I can see it taking a lot of pressure off the individual clan leaders in the current system.

Elders = friends, long time and loyal member, people who had contributed, active, good donation. Probably around 10-15.
Members = newbs, not-so-important and can be replaced.
Believe we are going to have five co-leaders. Sounds like a lot, but it's the core that has been rotating leader every season anyway.
May not work for all clans, but we have an elder run clan that has almost zero drama and almost no turnover.
If you need more then 2 co-leaders then you probably shouldn't be a leader.
Co-leader is for support.
Things will get messy when you have more then 1-2. And could possible cause upset in the clan.
When choosing power upon members you have your friends and trustees but also make sure they are signed upto your clans forum / wechat / glassboard / groups and even here.
With great power comes great responsibility
As a Clan Leader, if I were to leave my clan at mo without handing the reins to someone it would go to the top player (who is a bit of a nob lol).
If I've appointed a co-leader would it now automatically go to them or still the top player?

No. It would not be. Supercell wants to allow clans to decide how to govern themselves. What if they had limited it? People would be in uproar over whether it was too many, too few, "you idiots", I didn't want co leaders, etc. They have given the tools, each clan can now decide how to be run.Quote:

As for how to decide, I think it's a combination of trust, activity level, leadership and knowledge of the game, probably someone who has been a kick-♥♥♥ elder for a long time. :)
I have discussed with alot of my clans members & Yea Baby family will have 1 to 2 co- leaders for each clan. The main clan will have the founding members as co-leaders. Not sure how this will play out but I hope this is not an elder pre cool down situation.

We already share the clan between the most loyal and active elders, 6 of us in total. we have 14 elders. So i guess we will have 9 elders 5 co leaders 1 leader after the update.
I like the new system because people who beg to be elder can get promoted to that position. As for co-leader, I would only choose people I really trust, and no strangers.
I think the number of co-leaders is largely dependent upon how varied your clan is. Ideally, you should have at least on leader or co-leader available at all times ... this is more important in an international clan such as ours. If you have one active leader or co-leader from each demographic region, very few issues would go unresolved for any length of time. Of course, outstanding clan loyalty and activity is a must.
Does anyone know if a leader can demote a co-leader? I'm not quite sure if I want to share the burden of running a clan! ;-)
But I imagine I will have one co-leader in our main clan, where as I shall have a few in our lower clans. Co-leaders will purely be based on who I think would make a good leader in my absence.

1-3-5-41 approach. Allows for a 9 person voting "board" in case of any major clan decisions.
If you would like a more anarchical approach:
1-0-0-49, Leader always wins
If you enjoy socialism (I'm looking at you, liberals):
0-50-0-0 Technically impossible, but oh well.
You Democratic clans out there:
1-1-1-47: These are elected positions every specified interval
My clan -leader will make the most 20 active and loyal members elder. And 3 of them (including me) will become co leader.
Begging for a rank will be an instant kick.
Keeping the same people as elder, and for co-leader it shall people who a) have been in the clan for a long time and b) people I completely trust.
Instead of clans giving out free elder now there going to be giving out free co-leaders.. Then you'll see a clans filled with co-leaders.. In my own opinion i think there should be at least 1-2 co-leaders that can actually be trusted. Depending on the clan 5-7 elders would be a reasonable amount. Just sayin :P
I would say:

1-3 co-leader would be enough. Too many co-leader won't be good.
Those co-leaders might be rotate monthly but again three co-leaders is optimal.

2 so if one fails you....there is the other one

My clan is a mix of adults and mature kids, so I would do someone that can be on most of the day for co leader than some friends that I really trust or they are great friends so maybe 5 co leaders. Then elders would be the last group of my friends or trustworthy and they are very active so maybe 15 elders. And then the rest members which is 29 people.

For us, co-leader is the new elder. We already have a solid policy on promotions so abuse of the rank is not an issue. We'll also now be able to reward our long term members (more than a few months of membership) who have not made the cut for elder in the past by making them the new nerfed elder rank. So basically, all our elders will now be co-leaders, and loyal members will be elder. Only new people will be members (newer than a few months).
We don't have a set number of elders or co-leaders. It's about the people u trust. Gaining my trust involves activity / donating loads. Being there a long time. And being a good friendly player in the clan most importantly.
I have 4 elders (currently) which I trust 100%. They will be my co-leaders. The rest of the elders (about 3 others) will stay as elder.
Before this update we have an elder convo on kik which deals with problems in the clans. The team of elders (who have generally been in the clan a coupla months) do a good job of administrating the clan.
The new elders who recently get promoted. I'll just have them as elder and not co-leader. Even tho I trust them (otherwise I wudn't have promoted), I still want to see how they do as elder and how they help run our clan.
In our clan, our co-leaders, I would happily give leader to while I'm either on holiday or visiting family clans.
For those people who are new to the game don't promote to clan co-leader unless they are leader worthy and are 100% trustworthy. The rank of elder shouldn't be given to just high donators, because it carries and administrative role. Only promote to clan elder if u feel they should administrate your clan, ie been there a coupla months, kno the rules, be a friendly player etc. When they are clan elder (ie they have the safeguards up), you can then see how they do as an elder. If they don't do well they should demoted. If they do well as an elder you should leave them to administrate the clan as clan elder. Then eventually when they're 100% trustworthy (been in the clan for about 5-6 months, done a good job of eldership, they uphold the clan rules whilst still being encouraging and friendly, they are predicable and have never let u down, and they are also active) should u think about promoting some1 to co-leader.
In my clan, every 10 members, I make the members compete for promotions.
They get point for donating, amount of trophies, and war stars won.
The winner get co-leader, and three runners up get elder.
This means:

5 Members
20 members

2 Co-Leaders
6 Elders
11 Members
30 members
1 Leader
3 Co-Leaders

One leader, 8 trusted co leader from timezone. 1 in USA and Canada. 2 in Europe, 1 in Russia, 1 in Singapore and 2 in Australia. And 11 elders, the rest are members. Its not real, just wish list for my future clan
