How do you think supercell is gonna handle future build times and costs?

The current longest build time in COC is 14 days or so... and thats for the lvl 4 xbows and teslas... Do you think the future upgrades will be even longer? like say 20 days or 30 days, or will the build times stay this way in the future?

And the build costs , will the future levels of defense cost 12 mil or 15 mil gold to build? if supercell makes a lvl 12 storage..

I think waiting 20days or raiding 15 mil gold will be outrageous and a pain to play.... not to mention boredom.. Has supecell reached a roadblock?

I don't thinkthey expected the game to be this popular... maybe they'll just start adding 1 day per upgrade after 14 days. If not, it'll flop.

Considering the fact that build times and costs haven't gone over the current max in a year I wouldn't expect to see 30 day build times.

I think they should keep (if not lower) the 14 days to be the maximum amount of days you should have to wait to upgrade anything.

I really hope they don't start to make things 21 days + to upgrade.

Imagine waiting 21 days for builder, 18 for another and 14 for the other one. Geeze :(

I think expect building times to cap out at 14 days, they will either likely do what they did with the heroes, or compress the lower level build times.

If build times will further increase in upgrades, SC should just make all buildings that are upgrading still be functional past TH 10.

I hope that doesnt happen ever 30 days build time..!!

Why do you think that? It's not like there is a cosmic rule that higher ths need higher cost buildings. All future upgrades could easily be capped at 14 days and 8m. In fact if it were up to me, I'd lower the cost of older upgrades as newer ones came out.

it cannot be that all lvl 5 xbows, lvl 4 infernos, lvl 6 clan castle , lvl 13 cannons and lvl 9 wiz twr all capped at 8 mil, 14 days?

They've done it before. Mine only cost me 7m. Look at the Dark barracks too.

14 days is very likely the longest time an average player can wait according to their mobile game stats. Anything longer will make players bored and quit. They have data like how far have most players progressed before they quit. They then analyze the data and try to find out what is the cause. A game like CoC has all the details figured out from the start (of the game design).

People need to get over it. New levels of specific buildings come out rarely. Thus if you pay the higher price you get to enjoy the benefit of that building longer...sometimes a lot longer. Plus lowering the costs allows new people to catch up giving those of us with those high level buildings more targets to raid. Lastly it makes sense because no one wants longer build times and 12m gold buildings.

I think SC reached the maximum already as well. 8 Mil ressources and 14 days is the maximum a player accepts to pay. I think they will lower the costs for older upgrades and put the new ones on top with 8 Mil and 14 days.

Also I see the future of CoC not with more upgrades, they will come only rarely, but in introducing new content like quests, challenges, clan wars, clan related tasks etc. That will keep the game exciting and fresh, even though not many new upgrdes were introduced.

But ok, imho thats one of the biggest problems CoC has right now. It wasn't ment to develope so fast and to the point it now reached.

For sure. But before they do that, they need to fix loot or alter the penalty. Th11 would otherwise be a nightmare.

Pretty sure the 14 day build time will remain the max, like heroes take 7 days per upgrade for me now, and will continue to take 7 days per upgrade until lvl 40 (not that i can ever farm my way there, but thats something for another thread). Not sure about cost, but if they ever introduce a TH 11, we might see a fifth storage.

Ok but when, now? Add more TH? Or isn't it better to put in some substantial content?

If they need to add more TH why not just add five new levels right now? Its easy for them to do, takes about a week of work from the dev and artists - but seriously it means nothing if they don't also look at content and increase the amount of lateral play in the game rather than a straight forward progression!

if any build time takes longer than two weeks... im out

As i said, only the rare upgrade of a building. I can imagine a plan like teslas are next. Then will be a new th released, with only two new upgrades and one new building. Then every other 1,5 month they release st most one new upgrade to a defencive building. To reasons: they can't go on and make stuff more expensive all thw time and second, they would otherwise overexert people.

Another reason for no new buildings and storages is, that there simply isn't that much space left.

Many many questions about CoC's future indeed...

Any building times that would be extended are okay; the only ones I don't agree with, are the heroes. The wait times on them are a little ridiculous.

Well by the time TH20 comes out, it will most likely be a 40 day upgrade lol lol who's got time for dat!

I'm joking - because progression in the game is vertical, SC have created their own milestone, to keep players interested, they have to bring out more TH levels.

I would prefer more lateral development - substantial game content - such as Mastermind's daily quests and/or more goblin maps or even weekly goblin challenges

I think supercell has hit a much needed roadblock. Honestly, anything longer than 14 days to upgrade is excessive, and the 8 million cost is on the verge of excessive. I can see th11 coming, and even lv12 storages, but anything more would make the game a drag. More and more people would start drifting away. As of now, it takes almost a year to get to th10 without using gems.

What they need to do is evolve their game, not just keep adding the same things. The new update seems to be going in the right direction with a new gameplay element for the barb king. We need more things like this, such as: new ways to raid/earn resources like league battles and clan wars; new goals such as daily/weekly challenges; and new reasons to keep playing like clan run competitions w/ rewards. If supercell does this, they will keep their current players and gain new ones, but if they decide to start increasing the upgrade times and costs again, I can't see the game lasting another year...

This^ SC will lower the time on other upgrades when they add TH11 in the future. For example if there is a lvl 5 xbow for TH11, then lvl 4 will take 12 days instead of 14.

14 days fine with me.

There is also the fact that between updates, many players are able to reach the "full TH 10" upgrade, then have to sit there and farm walls (yawn).

it might actually be nice for some to have longer build times, which will last until the next update, so current maxed out players have something to look forward too.

It all depends how SC sees the situation: do you want people that are maxed out, or do you want people to keep striving and actually never get there because you give updates quicker than what can be built.

I also have another idea, not sure if it's been mentionned elsewhere: have a building that when upgraded, enhances the work efficiency of your builders. Make it a TH 10 building, so that when you upgrade this building the costs and build times of TH 11+ buildings go down.

There's a way to play with this to make it acceptable for all.

(edit: correction, it'll never be acceptable to all, no matter how awesome the updates are, there's always someone not happy, even when you give free gems!)

I doubt they will go over 14 days. Future building may require a combo of gold and dark elixir. Or something along those lines.

wizz towers lv7 changed from 10 days to 7 after an update..
to bad i got 2 builders busy on them.. could wait the 3 extra days :rolleyes:

I'd rather they work on more dark troops before another TH, we have at least 3 to go, if they hold the pattern, before TH11.

Money Money Money Money Money. Thats all I can say. Supercell will most likely become greedy and everyone will quit! Haha I hope not :D This is a very good point though.

Im at TH10 and have maxed all my defences upto TH 9 levels with level 8 walls.

Not going to bother with lvl 4 xbow, lvl 12 archer towers, cannons, walls etc.

Whats the point...honeslty...there is so little benefit.

So the game is pretty much at a stand still with me and I have nothing to do while I upgrade my troops.

For me, anything over 8mill and / or 14 days and I'm out. Furthermore, they need to drop the 8mill by at least 100,000 so that when we do upgrade something we don't have to sacrifice our first born in the hopes that the only raid after upgrades doesn't stick us with a 10k payout. (Ps I know there are work arounds)

I would like to hope that $8 million & 14 days is the cap.

If I was in a position to need even more gold/elixir for just one upgrade, or wait say 3 weeks for something I would retire.

I WOULD ASSUME THAT ONE DAY THEy WOULD USE a builder boost but it will be in the distant future

Personally I would think the build time is fine as it is, cost wise will be difficult to say, if TH11 ever come then will definitely need some sort of system to keep it work, otherwise it is just pure atrocious to save up 10m+ for a single upgrade.

I a agree with this. It would make game play bearable and realistic. No one would continue to play if this happened and new players would be rare. This could make the game obsolete if waiting periods became that long.

I think we are def due for TH11 now. There's a lot of TH10 pretty maxed. All the other ideas are great as well, I think both the daily quest type idea + TH11 is needed.
