The Purpose of This Game...
I'm not popular on the forums or in the community in general, but I hope this is of some interest to you. In a recent debate with a fellow clasher who's name will not be revealed (because I forgot), I questioned the purpose of this game. He made the argument that to get trophies is the point of the game for every player. This was stupid (in my opinion). My purpose for playing this game is the fun and the satisfaction of completing an upgrade, so therefor my existence in this game and the purpose in which I play it for cancels out the argument...
So what is the main purpose of this game?
This answer was rather easy to come. We can compare this to life. Our purpose as physical beings on this Earth isn't to pass down our genes to our offspring. It's what we choose it to be. If we want to follow a religious life and follow God and fulfill his will or something like that, then that is your purpose in life. If we want to make the most money we can, then our purpose in life is to make a lot of money. In that same way, clash of clan's purpose is chosen by each individual player. My clanmate still plays this game to say hi and donate every once in a while. He plays this game for the social side. Hannibal played because he enjoyed the strategy it took to find a base and find a weakness and break it to take the loot inside. Jorge Yao played because he wanted to be the number 1 player in trophies.
In the global that I was in, quite a few people seemed to agree with this unknown player, so I assume the "purpose of the game" is seen by many to be one specific thing. I have come to this conclusion. The purpose of this game is to play the way you want to play it.
