People always talk about the clan war or team attack, but a more feasible way to implement this is to build a Mega Town for each clan. This is how it works in details:
1. DAY-ONE: Each Clan (maybe >10 ppl) will have an empty land to start building their Mega Town, just
like the new village for each player.
2. LAYOUTS: Every clan members can spend time designing the layouts of the Mega Town. They can
submit the finished design to a temporary portfolio. Then the clan leader and elders can vote for
each layout/design, the satisfactory ones will be chosen to apply to the Mega Town.
3. RESOURCES: The Mega Town can have both resource collectors and resource storages. The
resources in the collectors need to be retrieved into the storage by the clan leader or elders. Clan
members can also donate their excess gold and elixir to the Mega Town's storage, if they want to...
These resources are then used for future developments and building upgrades.
4. BUILDINGS: The buildings and defenses in this Mega Town have way more hit points, say ~10
times more than the ones in normal village. Tentative non-defensive buildings may include:
Super Spell Factory, Super Laboratory, Mega Army Camp, etc.
5. MOTIVATION & BENEFITS: Mega Town itself can have lots of benefits for clan members. For
example, giving out boost for resource/troop production to all members; Or giving extra
enhancement effect for troops (e.g. +1% attack speed, damage) for all member's daily attacks.
These boosts/enhancement effects can be increased with levels of the corresponding building in
the Mega Town.
**There should have a cool down (say ~3 days) for all these extra boosts/effects, in order to let the more aggressive players to buy gems still.
6. VOTE SYSTEM: The Clan Leader can initialize vote among clan elders, for building/upgrading
defense, choosing layouts or claiming warfare against other clan's Mega Town.
7. BUILDING & UPGRADING: All building/upgrading votes once passed will be put on an automatic
queue. The construction will start automatically as long builders and the amount of resources
become available, either from collectors in the Mega Town or clan member donations. The jobs
on the queue may be re-arranged or suspended by the leader.
8. Now it comes to the fun part: the CLAN WAR
8.1. After elders' voting, the clan leader can initialize clan war against another clan's Mega Town.
The goal is to use massive troops (say ~1000) gathered from clan members to destroy the
opponent's Mega Town, especially its Mega Town Hall.
**Participants may limit to the clan leader and some chosen elders. OR if technically possible, can
include every clan members that want to join the raid.
8.2. Upon winning, the loots are taken from the defeated Mega Town's resource storage;
then they are being distributed among the members in the winning clan (maybe according
to the amount of troop donation). The losing clan will have a shield over its Mega Town (~2 days?).
8.3. The winning clan will move up in the leaderboard, and the defeated clan's ranking is moving down.
Maybe other reward and punishment as well.
8.4. The war can take much longer (say up to ~20 minutes), because the troops are thousands and
the hit points of the defense buildings are enormous.
8.5. During the war, both the clan leader and elders will have control over certain amount/type of
troops or spells. But the key special troops may only be controlled by the clan leader (King or Queen
-like troop).
8.6. There will be a message board during the clan war, so that the leader and elders can discuss
strategies in real time.
**Even better (idea from DaBubs:), "the Leader could place markers on where he/she wants certain
elders to place certain troops for more of a strategic and command RTS style."
8.7. There can be a Mega Town Clan Castle which stores troops against attacks, say up to ~100 units
from clan members.
I think this should be fun and make the clan system more complete by itself. The leader and elders in
the clan shall really have smart minds to carry out the Mega Town development and win Clan Wars.
And it's challenging in software development for SuperCell as well...
Thanks for reading through it. All thoughts and comments are welcome.
