More uses to being in a clan

The only reason people are in clans are becuase of troop donations other than that its useless. There should be more benefits into being in a clan such as being able to donate and recive resources or guild skills. U can donate 10k gold which equals a guild point. The clan leader with the guild points can use it on Guild bonuses such as 2% more loot on raids. Or troops from the clan castle do 5% more damage. Also all of these bonuses affect everyone in the clan and can be lvled up to give even larger bonus.

Your idea of sharing/trading resources or gems is very creative, but unfortunately it can easily be abused, and it's been ruled out by Supercell, probably for one of the following reasons:
1.Players would create multiple accounts in order to funnel resources into a single account.
2.Supercell would lose profits due to a fall in gem sales.
NOTE: A clan bank (Central fund that members can withdraw/place resources/gems into) also falls into this category.
