Lol, as long as they don't decide to punish the hoarders by only counting new spawns as having a higher gem drop rate.

Sometimes the most obvious hints are the hardest to come by. Hoping for double the amount of gems here, so each obstacle can reward between 2-6 gems each.

except rewards for obstacles are defined when spawned... (observed from people removing obstacles with airplane mode and always giving same rewards)

You can remove the same obstacle multiple times (as your actions aren't sent to SC's servers) to see whether the number of gems given is pre-assigned or randomised every time.
