New "building": Hidden Walls
Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this.
The idea I'm about to explain is born mainly from my enthusiasm towards Hidden Teslas and the many ways they can be used. As you all know, they are strong defensive buildings; but unlike any other defense they can be effectively used to lure troops who directly aim for defenses, compelling them in modifying their route and sometimes effectively disrupting even a strong attack.
That said, I was thinking that the same "surprise" effect could be extended to walls.
For instance, up from TH7 or so (just like teslas) we could be able to buy this special walls from the shop, in a limited number of course, say 10 or 15, increasing with level of townhall and maybe reducing the corresponding number of "normal" walls (there's lot to be discussed about this).
What's particular with these walls? That just like teslas unless you approach a certain range they stay hidden, invisible to attackers. But when troops come in range, they pop out of the ground where they were placed, protecting the building behind them, creating funnels, labirinths or whatsoever.
Obviously they could be made upgradable, because after they are up they are just like normal walls and troops may want to break through them. They might have the downside of being slightly less powerful (less HPs) than equivalent level "normal" walls, or require a bit more gold to be upgraded, or endless other possibilities.
The point I want to underline here is that in my opinion teslas mean fun because they are unpredictable, they require adaptation of the attacker and they interact with troops AI in a unique manner.
I do not think this is an overpowered idea, because speculation about where the hidden walls might be will still be possible.
Please let me know if you think this is an interesting suggestion, if it should be modified in any manner. And thanks again for reading!
