Sometimes I think AI screws things up for people when they don't use the correct mix of troops. Not sure if it had anything to do in your case but I just had the funniest defense ever because of the way AI works
I'm only in bronze but I have all level 4 walls and I had 190,000 elixir and maybe 50k gold . The attacker must have been at a similar or higher town hall as me (th4) because he attacked me with 3 balloons and a herd of giants. The balloons managed to take out a cannon and my mortar.
the herd of giants walk by my gold storage like they are supposed to and hit an archer. walk by my elixir storage and hit the cannon and the other archer.
I figure I'm done because there are now 5 giants left and no defense
but instead of getting ALL my loot the giants start to break back out of my compound. I'm wondering why when I remember I have an un finished air defense outside the walls. I was going to figure out a place for it after it was built.
they destroy it and then destroy my castle and all my builders huts and barracks that were outside and circler all the way back to where they came in and finally start on gold while time runs out.
Out of 190,000 elixir and 50,000 gold he got 200 elixir and 3000 gold
just 5 goblins at the right moment would have had enough time to cleaned me out but this guy was obviously to good for goblins
And his attack left me with 27,000 more elixir than I started with because of those santa gifts and tomb stones and a shield to protect me all night while I slept.
I like ai fails thats why i choose an army not dependent on ai too much in my farming army
