A TH7/TH8/TH9 Premie Journey ...

Thank you for making this thread to share your experience sharonsym. This is my favorite thread on the forums by far, it has totally changed my playing experience.

I have been playing since July 28 this year and I have been following your guide since TH8. I am currently at TH9 with half lego walls and couldn't be happier. Thank you my friend!

I am going to work via PROFIT not REVENUE because profit takes into account next cost and army costs. Also disregarding lab time because lab time is worse for the max so will handicap the rusher and give the maxer a easier time. I will also handicap the rusher and do nothing but walls @ th8.

TH8

78 days to upgrade in terms of build time(143d research), with 225 walls @ 500 a pop means you must supply your base with a measly 108m for defenses, 65m for lix upgrades and 128m resources for walls I wont go into DE get to complicated but TH9 is 12.5x more then TH8 DE. Total res is 301m profit

TH9

166 days (king level 5 to 30 AQ 1 to 30) in build time 205m gold, 95m lix, 1B resources for walls. Total res is 1.3B profit

So to be truly max and this is the point your probably missing is that a max TH9 has lava set and 30/30 heroes. The TH8 who does the max thing has to farm 3.8m resources a day.

I rushed and spent 14 days @ TH8 coming from a max TH7(same as the maxer would) I farmed full skulls in this time had barch maxed camps maxed. So the total resources needed for a TH9 rusher from max th7 = 1.3b + 301m - 128m(walls farmed at th8, skipping lab ♥♥♥♥ and will just handicap myself for this math) = 1.47b resources



Rusher @ no idle builders once TH9 14 days of idle builders @ TH8

166 days + 78 days= 244 days

1.47b / 244 days = 6.0m per day farmed

If profit is @ 6.0m a day it will take exactly 244 + 14 days idle = 258 days to hit max TH9



Maxer @ no idle builders

301m / 78 days = 3.8m

1.3b / 163 days = 8.0m per day farmed

If profit of 3.8m and 8m per day are farmed at respected TH levels it will take 241 days to hit max TH9

If you can farm 7m per day it is now 185 days to max

If you can farm 4m per day it is now 325 days to max


Rusher

So once @ TH9 you unlock 220 army spaces 5 more CC slots 4th spell and TH9 troops. It takes 15 days into TH9 to get barbs L6 this is THE upgrade that changes your farming completely. The reason this upgrade changes everything is because you can now use less troops to do more damage as their HP is increased. So instead of using 200 troops on a base you now use 150 as a example. 50 units @ 22sec( 20sec barbs 25sec archer) gives us this equation

50 units x 22 secs = 1100 secs / 4 rax = 275secs / 60 secs = 4.5 mins

This 4.5mins only gets larger as your Archers get to L6 and you can use even less troops to farm. The more time pressing next gives you a bigger % of finding a collector raid. If you are wasting 4.5mins every raid you for 91 days it adds up to a LOT of wasted time that doesn't need to be wasted(75hrs for me personally).

Maxer

So if you can farm more then 3.8m profit per day @ TH8 you will cap out resources and be bottle necked by builder time. If you can just farm 3.8m you will have no resource bottle neck and will upgrade to TH9 as a max TH8 with 0 idle builder time. If you farm less the 3.8m total profit you will not max TH9 with 0 idle builder time.

Also once you get to TH9 you now have a larger set of expenses due to having to produce more resources per day you must now raid 33% more per day to keep builders busy, so revenue will have to increase to cover the 33% more costs. When at TH8 due to the lower costs you get a easier time due to more revenue becoming profit. This easy time breeds a less active play style then what is required to max out @ TH9.

So while your technically correct that the builder time for maxer and rusher is exactly the same. You dont understand the reasoning behind the different play style and why I say a rusher will max th9 before a maxer can. There is a huge amount of x-factors into this whole equation but I tried to keep it basic the x-factors go against the maxer UNLESS they suddenly become as active as a rusher which generally is not the case and is why people cannot do lava walls.

How do I know this well I have spent 220 days(estimate) @ th9 currently with AQ25 BK27 and only 55 more lava walls till max TH9 - 45 days (265 days @ 5mil resources per day)

Edit: 4th mortar not included also if there is a problem with my math please point it out, thanks.

Edit2: Math was horrible fixed it up tho was out by .4m(rusher) and 1.5m(maxer) by no means a small mistake thanks to warios for pointing it out.

I am on th 6 my wiz twr lvl are 2,at lvl6, cannon lvl6,mortar lvl 3,ad lvl 3,collectors and mines7-10,walls yellow and black,lab lvl 4,spell fact lvl 2 ,barracks lvl7-8, army camp lvl5 and storages lvl 9-10. I have not upgraded any troops in this th but I have decided to rush to th7 but also considered th8 as it would unlock an achievement and give me the dark elixir drill so can u help me decide what to do.Rush to th7 or rush to th8 pls tell me quick and tell me why.

de is pretty much easier. in gold 1/ crystal 3. de is pretty much ok. well the real problem is how to get elixir. lab upgrades is not cheap..

This is a very good anwser regarding this ridiculous "maxing out everything before moving up disregarding playstile" dogma.

The only thing which is not fully correct though is that a level 6 BARCH will farm about 25% less than a level 5 BARCH th 8 in current economy because of:

• higher nexting cost
• 10% loot penalty on th 8
• th 8 can attack th 7 (less next and smaller army need)

Disagree...Th9 can now attack th8 much more effectively...Pretty Sure Sharonsym (OP) proved that with, well, this thread..

I rushed to th9 thanks to this thread. So far its been great and a lot of fun. Ive had sooo much progress I cant even believe it... Ive been here 15 days or so and I feel very strong as a th9 :D

I wanted to know, are the Xbows really powerfull and need it to be maxed ?? I was thinking, if you dont raise them to lvl 3, you could rush to th10 sooner.. Please let me know :D , That would cut 1 month of my farming time. I only use barch with WB's and Ballonions to farm right now, so i might ignore all other troops... I did max lightning, rage and heal though :D

Yea someone else would have to get right into the math but tbh I make so much revenue when i farm @ th9 some days that th8 gold dump would never have been able to sustain me.

This thread makes me want to upgrade

Would you reccomend semi rushing to town hall 10? Whats a good range? Here's my base, I'd like to know what your opinion is:

This totally depends on your style of play. TH9 is a sweet spot for barch/BAM high gold per hour farming. TH10 is better for lazy loonian every hour type farming, because you can log off and not be farmed yourself (infernos on multi protect you).

Personally I don't see much point in rushing to TH10, unless you only do wars and don't bother farming anyway.

Nice guide. Moved to th8 2 weeks ago. Ive been maxed my th so far and i think its time for change. I will just upgrade my gowipe and farm army. Everything else will come in th9 because its gonna be long ride there.

I will abandon hogs and dragon as i think they"ll get owned in th 9.

Midway through the 2nd post of this thread are his updates since TH10.

Need to remind, everything OP said about rushing to th 9 applied before update with elixir-to-upgrade-walls and 4th mortars. He's been th 10 long since. If anyone want to follow in his steps, some adjustment are needed for raiding tactics, leveling sequences and army combos.

nope everything is the same. I followed OP advice first time around and rushed even faster the second time around. Everything is the same. Barch is still good for farming.

I just started 2weeks ago and im a th 7 premine with rubbish def. Any advise to farm currently? I had boosted barrack with the 1gem event and farmed for like 4hours, and I could only farm 30+ purple walls so far.

as with the old loot system u could farm them in less than a week.
I most of the time is spent on "next" what's the range that is recommend for me? im still on lvl 3 troop as my lab is still upgrading. (got to th 7 a day ago)

You'll be fine in a couple weeks, right now the gem boost event is creating a loot drought. Just keep farming those walls and defenses. As with each Th level, prioritize your offense above everything else, and then your splash defense...i.e. mortars and Wizard towers. Fyi, I believe Sharon does not visit this forum anymore. Could be wrong...

I check op's base ( yaw in ramen king clan) seems like he/she's still active. Upgrading archer tower. Why op never check this thread anymore?

Nope this is the rush to TH9 thread. TH10 is strictly for developed bases :)
If you're an active farmer and you're in for the most challenging aspect of the game which is walls and heroes, you should never rush to TH10. Loot is mega dry up there, dead base farming is gone. DE on the other hand is plentiful up there.

IIRC he had level 0 pekkas.
He don't even have hogs and whenever he had to attack we had to donate him witches/golems all the time. 90% of the time he used air compositions to easy 2 star top players (we don't have lava hounds back then).
All his farming troops are well developed however, including balloons and minions.

I helped my friend yesterday. Go to 900-1000s.
This is the setup i currently taught him :
If you haven't bought your BK : 2 barracks barbs, 2 barracks archers
If you already bought your BK : the same but bring 20 minions

Why minions when you're running low on DE? Because they are hands down the best troops to deal with enemy BK.
Farming DE is pointless on TH7. Instead, focus on gold and elixir because you're going to get more DE in TH8.

But i suppose you were not a TH7 anymore isn't you?

I noticed that when I was TH7 - there were so many dead bases and good loot and I barched them so easy. But after moving to TH8 - its became more problematic to found that bases. Now I'm thinking about rushing to TH9 - will it be more worse situation with farm at TH9?

My strategy hasn't changed... still BARCH, BARCH+WB, BAM around Gold2 and Gold 1.
I tried Gold 3 as a forum member advised me, but I have no luck there... too much pressing next

In this 2nd week, I spend it without spells because my SF is upgrading. So, farming storage is much harder, but still I managed to keep all my builder busy 24/7
