Ideas on leveling up faster??

I'm ashamed to say I left the game some time last year cause there wasn't anything new, so it got boring.
Well I'm back and looking forward to advancing and trying this fishing thing and mining thing!
Thing is..it's taking for ever and a day to level up and to get the nails I need to expand my silo. I've farmed wheat so many times only to get tape or something not needed lol.
Anyone got any tips on how to level up faster and how to find saws and nails??
Forgot to ask: how can you tell if a neighbor isn't playing any more???

Do you have the money saved to open your mine and repair your fishing boat? No point in leveling up if you can't afford to buy the new things that become available. You might want to concentrate on earning coins first.

As for nails...come to the trading thread. Many people would be happy to relieve you of your tapes in exchange for nails.

Truck orders, truck orders, boat orders, and truck orders......


That's what I use to level up quickly, but once you start to get to the higher levels, its not so quick level up.

I'm only on Lvl 23 so can't do those yet blahhh.
I'm saving up coins and trying to get to Lvl 24 for that cave

That "cave" is the mine and it's really not going to help you much at your level....you will have to buy a smelter to do any thing with the ore you harvest. Plus the ore makes virtually no coins if you just sell it. Save up for the juicer in level 25 and then you will make more money and xp.
My opinion of course, but the mine was the biggest letdown for me at your level-set me back a long way coin wise....

If I could do it all over again I wouldn't open the mine until later. As much as I like it now, it was a waste of coins early on for me.

I leveled up quickly with the truck orders thinking this was the way to go but then struggled for coins. If I could give any advice, I would say make coins and don't level up too fast because unless you have coins, you can't buy any of the machines. Being broke in this game is no fun but being at a lower level is tolerable.

I think I was in mid forties before I found the forum and the tips and tricks.

If I could start my farm from scratch I would do the exact opposite of all that I did with my current farm. My daughter-in-law started to play 2 months after I did and she swept past my levels and coins like a whirlwind because she followed the advice I gave her during her play and I was SO JEALOUS of her (lol) success. ;)

Play the way you really want to play, listen to the advice and take only out of it what makes the most sense to you and your playing style. We all love to help. There are a fantastic bunch of people on this forum so you're never alone.
