Crops Question?

Ok, so we buy the crop and then we plant it. The silo doesn't differentiate between seeds and grown crops though. Not having an agricultural mind I'm getting baffled. Say I buy 10 Corn and I want to fill a boat order. If I plant it, will it produce more?

(Bet everyone will think I'm really stupid, lol)

You plant one and reap two. When you plant, it is removed from your silo.

Your question is not stupid. It took all of us a while to understand everything about the game. We all have " well, duh!" moments. Keep playing!

You can definitely become self sustaining. But sometimes it may be advantageous to purchase things.

When a new crop opens up, I usually buy a few to get a foundation. Then, by planting slow growing crops at night, it is fairly easy to become self-sustaining. If fact, I harvest and sell quite a few crops to get expansion materials when harvesting.

I also buy crops occasionally. Wheat when it is 10 for 1. Of course, every once in a while I accidentally use all of one crop and am forced to buy replacements.

There are no stupid questions. I have learned a lot by reading the responses to a question that the poster labeled as stupid. :)

Daisy I usually plant everything. I don't like putting wheat in the shop. I sell my wheat to the little people. I sell corn carrots soybeans and sugarcain on a reg basis. I sometimes buy tomatoes potatoes and the fruits and berries. Not because I have to but because they take a while to grow and because I don't want to use my trees up. I sell all the crops at cheaper prices than max though. If you have questions feel free to kik me if you have kik

KIK is an app that is a sort of universal messenger. Since HayDay does not have in game messaging, many people have adopted KIK. To be honest though, I find people mostly only need it if you are organizing a trade with someone in real time (because going through the sites PRive Message system is cumbersome). If you don't get it right away, don't sweat it.

I'd also like to add to the conversation that there are some crops (fruits) that are still stored in your silo but are not automatically self sustaining. You have to purchase fruit trees and bushes with cash and then harvest when they are ripe. You get up to four harvests from a plant, then it withers.

If you want more after that, you have to buy a new plant. You have to buy each plant though. You cannot, for example, use an apple crop to make a new apple tree. The good news is that you can easily sell some of the harvest and get enough cash to purchase another plant.

I buy crops every so often. For the most part though, if you have some stock of whatever crop you need, you can plant some of it (which is removed from your silo, like the others have said already) and then use the rest wherever needed. Keep an eye out for how much you have so that this cycle can continue.
