I finished my level 8 walls three ways, basically:
1) Kept a builder free while upgrading other defenses and made walls when I had the extra gold
2) Spent the extra loot I had after trophy pushes on walls
3) Let all but one builders sleep, and focused entirely on raiding for walls
I did most of this with BAM and BARCH (balloonions when I was in master during pushes), finding the sweet spot and raiding like crazy with my TH outside. The gold was easy to save, but it took a loooong time.

Farming is tricky thing. I do it in six week long cycles with my clan. Walls are indeed the biggest grind of all. If you find yourself with a lot of free time, I suggest you drop low - like low gold shield - and farm with tier 1 army. You'll be battling every few minutes. On the other hand, if you're clashing between errands or whatever, move up to low crystal and farm every 40 minutes with balloonian army. You'll raid less often, but search less and get bigger scores, especially as a TH8. Hope that helps.
Right now I'm sick at home, so the first one. I use a T1 army (I que archers in one barrack, barbs in one, gobs in another, and wbs in the last and keep queing before raiding). Army gets done rather quickly, and I get about 200k per raid, so I'll have a wall done every couple raids. Thanks!Quote:

I did lvl8 walls with barch at 1400-1700 ONLY raiding collectors which had 180k or more gold. Average search would cost 10-50k gold. Managed 5mil a day normally with average 170k profit per raid.
I use balloonioons in Gold 1 to get my gold but it only really works with lvl6 balloons
I never left a builder free to do walls. It slows down progress too much. And leaving all builders free? unthinkable to me. I have nightmares of a builder ever being free. I don't think it's necessary. Just do them before you start a new upgrade. I've had walls done for a while now too (lvl8). I have one lvl10 elixir storage that I leave beside the TH and virtually never ever lose any gold. I don't mind the 100k or whatever loss to elixir since I always use tier 1 troops. It's significantly slower to not have all 5 builders (or whatever) going non stop.
Haha agreed, but when you wanna finish the last, lets say 40 pieces of level 8's, I would recommend getting them done with a builder left free. After all, he isn't technically not working, he is on call ;)Quote:

Problem with having all builder builder is if your an ACTIVE GOOD farmer you will fill storages at th8 faster than be builds itself so you'll be sitting on maxed storages for few days...atleast that was the problem for me at th8 I'd end up having too buy gems too finish a buildQuote:
