This thread has been off track of lightning for a while. It slowly comes back occasionally but it still discusses the fact this is the op's secret "make th 8 harder" thread.

I understand perfectly what you are saying.
Funnelling is primarily focused on limiting the choices that a troop/troops take at the beginning of an attack (though not always just at the beginning) so that the attacking troops follow a direction you dictate. Ie. go into the base not around, go left not right etc.
Pathing is primarily focussed on the path troops will will take throughout the attack. ie. after the troop/troops take out the inferno, which target will they choose next and which target will they choose after that one etc etc.
To your question, once you have funnelled your valks into the core, which pathing will they take once the TH has been taken out is dependent on what targets are nearby. If you know that they are likely to choose something to the right for example, then if you want them to go left instead you need some other troop to take the nearest target out first. This in effect forces your troops to follow the pathing that YOU choose. Failure to do this allows greater chances for a group of troops to split up.
This explanation is exactly why many disagree with making progression too easy, important lessons are not learned when they should be and players have a less than optimum experience because they overdeveloped.
We all called it the hairdryer :)
yes, it wasn't all that useful at TH8 with just one of them.Quote:
At those low ths, it has minimum push back. Yes if you didn't think about it at all, it could repath the dragons but not many bases used it well. You can go through the forums and see the many complaint threads about this defense when it came out. I recently did and gave me a good smile since I know how some people dislike it for being too good now.
I would rather chase butterflies safely then get killed be a bomb tower
I have accounts with experience throughout Titans, and in Legends. I never see this use of valkyries. I almost never see valkyries.
One or two valkyries are not useless, they have DPS and HP, so the army may work like any other, but valkyries are not particularly effective at setting a funnel, or anything else, ahead of another troop.
A few years back there was a major change in troop targetting, they stopped targeting the nearest building, and instead something much more complicated. The end effect was to decrease the tendency of troops to clump, to increase their tendency to go in different directions based on a very small difference in starting point. This was great for PEKKAs, which are ruined when multiple attack the same building, and the group does this repeatedly. It was disastrous for the valkyries.
On balance, I prefer the PEKKAs being useful, but the valkyries need some love.
