Seriously. My base is sitting without a shield, with a completely exposed th, for hours, before getting hit by the only max th9 using a 35 hog army that happens to cross my base, and, subsequently, 3 starring it, as th8 defenses can't touch L5 hogs. Really?
I try to find u next time, never miss a chance to give free shilds.

Think on the bright side, he eventually did get to your th and now you have a longer shield :)

So funny you say this. My mini account is an easy win at Master ll. the last few days nobody attacks it. I havent been finding easy wins at all myself. Something is reslly off right now.

Umm I get a free shield every day from snipers (TH 8)
New to the forum, hi! (Not to the game though, been around since from the early days...)
Maybe it is just bad luck? I have incidentally witnessed the same, we have been farming since from mid Dec (next push starts soon) and during this time I have upgraded lots, including both xbows from lv1 to 2 and right away from 2 to 3 - so obviously at times I have offered plenty of loot. But I have had nothing but TH snipers attacking, plus the odd elixir swarms since I have been full for a long time and not bothered to protect that really well.
But now suddenly, all previous 3 attacks have been all-in assaults, going for the gold that I currently am not even carrying that much. So far I put it down to luck, but let us see :)
There's no loot in the system, if your sitting on a pot of gold, your gonna get attacked, TH outside means nothing and does not guarantee someone will snipe you...
I went to bed last night with 6.5 million gold in my storages, I was so relieved when I woke up and saw that I had been sniped :)
TH snipers are definately still out there...
75% of attacks on my base are snipers.
it's bound to happen sometimes. There's no rule that if you leave your TH out it must be sniped. Sometimes it will be sniped, sometimes it wont. My defence log currently contains 2 zappers, 4 all out assaults (only one of which got something) and the rest are snipes
The OP is TH8. So his advice is relevant. There IS loot for TH8 at silver 1, because I was there few days back. Now I'm at 1500 simply because I want to get more DE and prefer the golden shield.Quote:

and to OP, I think that there are more farmers than snipers, so its more likely that a farmer sees your base before a sniper does. Your best bet is to make the farmers skip your base by having a tricky layout.
Im a near max th9 with 75 lvl 9 walls the rest 8s. The last week my free shields have come with an all out attack most everytime. Currently bouncing around gold trophys and never having more than 100k loot showing. Real supprised so many people are hucking huge expensive armies at my base with so little loot and that no ones really sniping me as much.
My base has only seen one wipe where someone got more than 2 storages and it was all hogs. These people have to be desperate to take me on with 100k showing....

I've been sniping TH to maintain trophy count while all my mortars are upgrading (no point trying to save gold right now). About half of the seemingly undefended TH in Gold I/II have been booby trapped, so I can see why some players would avoid snipping ... might as well make it worth your while if you're going for a star.
I really like it when they leave their DE undefended, so I can one (or two) star them anyway, and take their DE :)

snipers are definitely still out there but i think with this abundance of th for them to snipe some of them have wised up and if the placement of your th looks like it may be a trap they just hit next. I have placed my th in top left corner of my base well away from any defence last 5 nights an been sniped every night which i was very relieved about as i had over 4mil of each every night.
A few questions: What trophy range are you sitting at? How much loot/trophies were there to be gained by the attacker? Does your base make do any of the things outlined in my "5 Farming mistakes" post? I'm at 1600 as a th7, and literally every defense on my battle logs screen (except one 3-star by a salty th9 near the bottom) are th snipes.Quote:

Firstly against weaker players theres a chance your teslas will win which granted does make a funny replay to show clan mates but you miss out on a shield which you will regret when the next defence is 100% with all resources taken
secondly you may be attacked by a good player who is happy to take the easy town hall an loot bonus, saving his troops for next battle. When hidden teslas pop up it may then encourage him to adjust his plans an launch a full assault getting 2-3 stars and your loot. I know this happens because its what i do! When I place my town hall outside my walls, I am making a contract with would be attackers: take the town hall and as a consequence you will get some easy trophies and I will get a free shield.
If I booby trap the town hall with traps or teslas, as far as I am concerned I have broken the contract and I fully deserve to be three starred.
Likewise, if you take the town hall and then proceed to drop lightning spells on my DE storage, that is not part of the deal, and I will hit you with everything at my disposal!
EDIT: Of course, if you take the town hall and go on to attack the rest of the base, it isn't actually TH sniping, so none of the above is relevant. :)
I kindof agree, TH snipers beyond crystal are extinct ....
Most just target crystal for gems ... beyond that, th sniping without loot is a stupidity. Because loot is dry.
As another person said in forums ... game got divided in two sections farming and trophy hunting. and Crystal 3 is the desert. All ppl farming are below crystal3 and all cup hunters are above. ... Cup hunters in crystal 1 and masters3 are running dry, so no one cares for th snipes if there is no good loot available.
The ways things are, dont seem right tho *sniff* *sniff*

you must be going thru the dark times. there are times where I keep on getting my base attacked for real non-stop mercilessly and I keep losing money. then there are the glory times, where I keep just getting my TH sniped. I am currently going thru the glory times. im in Gold 2. try changing ur trophy range

Oh, I guess I had to complain, I've just come accross an abandonned xbow upgrading. ;)
