Look, I don't know which game you play. You don't get to choose who actually attacks you for TH snipe, or a full-blown attack. Putting your TH out doesn't warrant an automatic FREE Shield every time. don't you want to protect your base the best you can?
Here are the possible scenarios for a farming base from best to worst:
- TH Snipe - Free Shield
- Collector Attack - BAM, BARCH, or BAG
- Resource Attack / Storage Raid - Full Army (Giant Healer Hybrid)
- Revenge Full Out - Strong heavy Troops ( Hogs, Balloonions, Drags, Pekka, Wiz, GoWipe, GoWiwi)
So out of all 4 cases of possible outcomes, CC troops is crucial for 3 of them.
Next attack will always screw you, but if you were to MOVE YOUR TH out into the OPEN, CC Troops is pretty much useless for ALL 4 Situations.
Whether or not 40% or the next attacker royally screwing you is a different point entirely.
For a while, I was losing more gold on rearming traps.
Sure it's cute blowing up one hog army with twin giant bombs, but then there was nothing left to prevent the next hog army cleaning my storages.
Therefore, I would rather have clearly defined loss to one attacker(even if it could be huge), than undefined losses to MULTIPLE attackers.
Now, I dont even bother to rearm my giant bombs anymore.
Not everything i post is a reply to what you post. I see these as actual mistakes as compared to the ones you posted.
Have you read through the thread and ponder the "don't dictate how others play" part yet.

Not every base design is the most efficient, and not everyone plays the most efficient way. Also, your perspective on efficiency and fun might be different from others.
1. I put my Town hall close to my base, but far enough from a lot of defenses so they are willing to take it out. Also; it tanks a lot
2. I agree with you, teslas around TH is plain dumb.

4. An inactive isn't really a clash player at all...
5. I rarely find defenses where people poorly defend resources (except for elixir because at some point it will be useless for you)
