As most people know, there is a time bug.
There are many who have complained about this but do not feel that SC is listening.
Do you feel that it's still a problem?
I do a poll and ask about if people still feel it's a problem - like many of the other poll's about loot. In order it should'nt get moved.
Something that is worth reading is this, as someone wrote earlier:
Supercell is committing fraud on its users in order to boost its revenues. I realized there is a thread in the Bugs forum on the technical issue. However Supercell has clearly demonstrated through their lack of action it is not a "Bug."
The technical aspects of the time issue can be found here
Supercell has specifically designed the code for their game to inflate the completion time on buildings, research, etc. All things you would pay gems on to reduce the time on. However, items that would benefit players from time being added such as shields and resource/barracks boosts are not affected. This clearly puts players in a situation where they need to gem more, or let builders sit idle during sleep/school/work.
Why do I know it is intentional fraud to boost their revenues? Because either they are poor software developers or it is done intentionally to boost their revenues as a profit driven company. We know the first is not true given the development of the game and expansion across platforms with what has generally been a low rate of bugs or major issues.
But from a software development perspective this is why it is intentional:
A. You are a software developer, you have a persistent bug that is negatively affecting every user, every time they play, but you choose not to fix it. Given the wide spread nature of such an issue it would be near the top of any queue as a fix issue. However its existence has been known for over a year, and Supercell refuses to fix it.
B. You have the same bug in all of your products. This is something you would have fixed when developing a new product even if you thought it was cost prohibitive to fix in an older product.
C. The time issue is inconsistent across different time calculations in the game, always to Supercell's benefit. When developing software like this you would reuse the same code for calculating all the times, for the sake of consistency thus you only have to get it right once rather than trying to debug multiple different calculations for the same item, and it's cheaper to develop the code once and reuse it since it takes fewer programmer hours. Since the time problem has carried over to other games they've developed, they clearly believe in reusing code.
So while I am 99.9999% certain this is an intentional action by Supercell, I am unsure how to take action to get their attention actually focused on change. I would rather not quit playing a game I like and that has proven to be an excellent fit in my current lifestyle (3 kids 3 and under). So hopefully this thread will continue to raise awareness about the issue and generate some ideas to get Supercell focused on rectifying the situation.
