From premature to maxed - an odyssey of mistakes

At long last, the time has come for me to head to TH10.

I started playing CoC in August or September 2012 I think. I have played this game for a very long time, but I was clueless for several months.

At about level 50 I gemmed TH9 to get the Xbows. This was, as all the forumers know, a big mistake. I had to drop to 400 trophies and only gather from collectors for a long while, because everyone ran me over. I had level 3 troops and didnt know how the spells looked.

Now, more than a year later, the time has finally come, when I am done paying for my mistake.

All defenses maxed.
44 lava walls, 205 skull walls, 1 nipple wall (mistake lol).
Max trophies: 2801
Heroes: 15/15
Lab: All done but golems and valks.
Gold grab: 554 million
Heroic heist: 1 567 341 DE

I look forward to the adventures of TH10.

Haha indeed, now you make me reconsider everything again haha.

But no, there are limits to how much I can afford to spend time on this game. WBs break walls so easily anyway, I won't be bothered with the outer layers. :D

I know these self congratulatory threads might be tiring but in between all complaints about loot it might be okey to hear about someone who survived extreme premmieness.

I love that you accepted the challange and did not quit or start a new base. That's the spirit !

Nice work! I pretty much made the same mistake with my first guy (didn't gem, just kept pushing to TH8). While I kept working on that guy (who is now respectably mid-TH9 w/ upgrades), I started a 2nd guy at the same time I wizened up (around July of this year). I have put equal amount of time and energy into both and the 2nd guy was just about ready to make the jump to TH 8 (only 50 walls left) before I put the game down last month.

I was really amazed at how much faster the game plays if you do EVERYTHING you can before upgrading your TH. Congrats on sticking it out, at this point I am probably going to abandon the TH 7 (add on more to the inactive pile) and just work on finishing the TH 8, when I remember to do it. BB has been taking up a lot of my time recently and is playing a bit more fairly.

Yes, with regards to maxing out before advancing - I did in the end understand why that is the most important rule of them all.

That is a very nice base my friend and I hope you feel pretty pleased with yourself, maxing to th9 is no easy challenge even if you don't rush, I learnt my lesson with the th8 loot cap and it took what seemed like a lifetime to get out of. Hope you continue to enjoy the game.
