The Loot System Implications

If you take a step back, it is clear that the loot system was made for town hall 10s
it is probably worth mentioning that the trickle of new players is dwindling (mabe less because of the ads)
when you break it down the loot system makes it very easy for higher level players to attack lower level storages
this is partly due to (disco) infurno towers
town hall 9s cant get to th 10 storages easily

in short the loot system makes it easy for th10s to (unfairly) farm th9s who (unfairly) farm th 8s
town hall 10s need way too much gold

I think the new loot system corrected an imbalance in the previous system, but incompletely. Taking 350K/350K/2500 from a well developed Th9 isn't easy.

BUT I think the addition of disco infernos has made it easy for a TH10 to horde loot. Its also caused an explosion of Th9 players who are sick of hog attacks to upgrade (this is purely an observation). I am thinking this is why Crystal III is a desert. A rift is forming between the farming and cup chasing ranges.

Discos have also effectively pushed TH9 players out of Crystal I and above (not saying all, some formers here with mad skills can attest to the fact their still farming in masters)

But I think for those TH10 players who aren't rockin' the high leagues their loot situation isn't greatly improved, because the only players who have loot (that would amount to anything to a Th10 player) have the means to protect it.

I agree that the inferno towers are OP, even a th10 attacking against them isn't a walk in the park.

But the passage I highlighted from your statement is what concerns me. It has always, always been that way. Th9's farm th8's who farm th7's who farm th6's... etc...

There is nothing unfair in that.

Maybe if you had written th10's farming th8's is unfair.. I would have agreed to that..

Loot Penalty: http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Raids

5% for attacking someone with a Town Hall (TH) 4+ levels lower than the attacker's.
25% for attacking someone with a TH 3 levels lower than the attacker's.
50% for attacking someone with a TH 2 levels lower than the attacker's.
90% for attacking someone with a TH 1 level lower than the attacker's.
100% for attacking someone with a TH level equivalent to the attacker's.

I think 90% is a bit high for someone who can easily faceroll a base 1 TH level lower. That should be lowered to 75%, seems a bit fair.

Ladies and Gentlemen its all there you just can not see it since its buried beneath penalty upon penalty

It’s not like our mines and collectors produce less then before….but your options fade away when they are filtered by Defensive Loot Percentage / Loot Cap/Loot Penalty/

Lets assume 1 000 000 is a reasonable amount of gold that every one has in its storage although many players don’t keep even that

I am a TH10 Player and many people would say me and the rest of the TH10s are on top of the food chain …now what do we see….


Over the many updates the Defensive Loot Percentage was decreased more and more form 25% to 20% to (10% for TH10 and 12% for TH9)

25% form 1 Million is 250 000
20% form 1 Million is 200 000
10% form 1 Million is 100 000

That makes for a TH10 other TH10 and TH9 not really accessible if they decide to play as long as they get the gold for an upgrade and log off with not more then a Million in the storage

Then we have the Loot Penalty whichmakes the Town Hall below TH10 and TH9 even less accessible since on top off the Defensive Loot Percentage a TH10 has another 50% reduction and TH7 75% so basically you see nothing

That’s way we have the NEXT,NEXT ,NEXT problem its different for the different Town Hall levels but it gets worse when you go up to TH10

Its easy to fix Super Cell just need to increase the Defensive Loot Percentage back to 25% and you will see the loot magically appear again for some reason they just don’t want to make things right even if they say so.



WHY did we like the game because it was fun to loot gold it gave you a false sense for accomplishment (I was joking with colleges that we might not make money at work but we do in the game)Then Super Cell decided to act like Government and the Mods like an Employer

They think this updates will increase their in come…..

People are a lot more inclined to spend money on something they like and they have fun with. When did I spend … I spend to buy builder …because I had to much gold …I spend to accelerate building time…..because all my storages were full and all my builder were busy and I didn’t want to wait


Do you think I am spending now…..:)
And why should I it’s a straggle to fill your storages and you always have builders free


I start to feel like Sheldon for ‘The Big Bang Theory’ the episode when Amy denied him closure. Super Cell are pushing people to give up the game rather to give them an opportunity to play it out

I have no idea for th 10 and 9 but 250-300k gold raids within 30 searches isn't great and also that only 1/4 of th9's have actually stolen more than 100k when they attack so at th8 at least smart attacking and defense will show that the loot system is good for us. Looking at the numbers and talking to clan mates th9 and th10 look very dry in terms of loot so it could be valid that 10-9 is unbalanced and is looking like that and with this unbalance that loot isn't great up there. So this is for all th8's that complain about the loot think again th9's crushing you adopt a different base design that can block most out and in terms of loot you can find 250-300k raids in the trophy region with the right army.

I agree it is less fun, I don't agree that the loot penalty is to blame.

Part of the problem is players aren't keeping anywhere near 1M gold in their storages, why would they, if you don't set aside the time to go on the offense then you can't gather enough resources to build an expensive upgrade, so the average player has opted to spend gold on the cheapest thing they can, which is normally walls. And since most of these players have level 6-7 walls that means they generally won't be storing at most around 250-550k, when we loot at what that translates to for a TH9 at 12% you are looking at 30k to 65k then those players drop back to 0 loot...

So it's not surprising to see what we see...

Pre-update a committed player, could save up for anything, and I am not saying that players are supposed to save up for everything with their collectors but for a lot of people there just isn't the time to religiously log on a play every day.

So typically what will happen is when it suits them they will log on for a bit and raid maybe 1 or 2 raids maybe a few more, it didn't really matter how many did as long as you make some headway.

If you are saving up for an xbow that raid will get you that little bit closer.

Now what happens is you go looking for a raid, you struggle to find one that looks juicy so you settle for 120K raid. you only need another million to get there, but life comes along you have to put the game down. You get raided, You loose 240k.

It feels unpleasant.

You get annoyed.

You dump your gold into walls...

we have all been there

Yup exactly what most of the players I know do, unless they want to test out a new layout, with a couple of mill gold in the stores attacks are very quick to happen.

Lucky for me my base is now blossoming into a strong Th9 that most won't be able to 3* with farming troops, or hogs.

I think most players either quit before TH10 or quit after being a premature TH10.

These changes are probably designed to keep people playing longer.

Just my thoughts though, and I have no idea if it's working as intended. Too early to tell I guess.
