In low Gold I the loot yesterday was pretty much the same as usual. Of course it's the weekend, so the same might actually be a good thing. I've yet to break my sheild today, but 6 defensive wins pushed me to the 1900 trophy range, so I won't be able to do a fair comparison today anyway.
Blame the people who brag about loot then quickly post their trophy rangeQuote:

Yesterday I did wonderful between 1800 and 1900 - which has been solid for a while.
I got optimistic and went up to just below 2100, between 2000 and 2100 there was nothing. Currently picking off exposed DE containers to sink back down.
There is loot but there is a desert between the farming and cup chasing ranges....
For what it was worth, yesterday I was farming farmers. Finding TH9 picking off weak th8 and 7, then stomping them with balloonions
I'm actually unusually struggling on my main (TH8), but my mini account (TH5) is like, rich.

Giant/wiz/healer/valk on storages every 48 minutes, 1 rage per raid, at 1800. 250k gold/lix per hour and 1500 DE. Making no fortune but a little of everything.
I am a TH 8 farming at gold 3 as well, and I do think the loot has improved. It's amazing how much better it is since a few weeks ago when there was nothing. It was so bad back then that a few of the people in my clan threatened to stop playing altogether.
Ok broke my sheild and it is pretty good today, but it's mostly collector raids. Tomorrow the new league session starts, so party's over then, I guess.
