new player! have a few Qs

hey guys, i've been playing for about a week now. lvl 16. so i have a few questions regarding goods, sales, expansions...

1. what is the max expansion for the barn and silo? i heard 700, then 1000 and now 3000 items max. not sure if the last is a h*** or legit.
2. what is with the bacon and eggs? everyone is selling them top price. it only takes 1h to make it. i can make 10 in a day easily instead of spending 2000 coins. will i need them later for someting else or is just for the sell/trade purpose? same for all other goods.
3. what is the purpose of the boat? soon i will be lvl 17.

i play on android. how can i add other players without adding them as fb friends? is there a way?

2. Cheap to produce, and they sell high. Also there is an achivement for it
3. The boat is like the truck... It asks for items and you fill them and send the boat down the river

The current limit for barns and silos is 10,000.

Bacon and Eggs are an easy to produce item farmers can make early on, so a lot of them are available. They aren't used in any other recipes. The reason there are so many for sale is that nobody ever buys them. Weird, right?

The small rowboat can be repaired and unlocks a fishing area.

The large dock can be refrained and allows you to get visits from a steam boat, which has orders you can fill, like the truck orders.

I think Facebook is the only option for friends on Android right now.

wow!! 10.000!!!!!!!! that is huge. out of curiosity how many items do i need for that expansion? lol
why so high? i have a friend lvl 82 and has 100 crops, lots of trees to harvest. i doubt it can go as high as 600-700 inside(this only in the silo), plus the barn for milk, eggs, bacon, wool... no more than 500 in the storage + expansions items. maybe reach 1000...

so i should just stop with the bacon and eggs? (if they serve no purpose). what about the rest? pies? pop corn? etc...

so the boat is like a large truck. makes you money and xp points. helps you advance to only expand and decorate?

around what point i will start making serious money?

I'm sure I'll be duplicating some answers here but here goes anyway:

1) Maximum expansion for both barn and silo is, indeed, 10,000...the wiki is outdated on a lot of things. Very few managed to reach that colossal size and my hats off to those who have. They few are most often the players that have been around almost since the beginning and are in the highest levels.

2) There is an achievement associated with them. Once that's done, they are used for trucks and boat cargo, and were the chosen item for our first global event. While they don't sell quickly because there is not much call for them, most lower levels place at full price because they need the money. Also, if they are not bought by a real person in a day or so, Greg or Tom (two of our resident AIs) will buy them so even higher levels sell at full price for the AIs.

3) There are two boats. Level 19 allows you to repair the dock, which will give you the steamboat. The steamboat has cargo to fill (like the truck). You will get XP, coins, and boat points for each crate filled (boat points move you along the leader board). Also, upon fully loading and sending off the boat, you'll get a colored voucher that can be used for pets (my recommendation...they give XP and needed items), fishing lures (when you get lake access), and decor items.

Tip: Before tapping a single crate, think about if you can fill it completely with help. You can ask for help on only 3 crates and sugar and dairy items are items most folks don't want to part with. If you have doubts, cast it off untouched using the appropriate button.

The row boat can be repaired at a Level 27, and gives access to a separate lake area where you can catch fish and lobsters to make products.

As for Android, I'm afraid that, at this time, Facebook is the only way to connect with friends. They are looking into alternatives but there is no way of knowing when that will be achieved.

This wiki page will give you how many items you need for each upgrade. The chart only goes up to 3000 but you'll see the pattern...one more of each item for each level. Each upgrade up to 1000 capacity is in 25 new space increments. Thereafter, each upgrade is in 50 new space increments. Why so high? LOL Trust me, you'll find out why so high after a short time. One can never seem to have enough storage space.

Most items sell well. Eggs, bacon, bacon and eggs don't sell as quickly as most other products. Clothing is a slow one, too when you get to that point. Other than that, most items sell well.

You can make serious money even now. My partial recommendation is to just sell, sell, sell the quickest and simplest products (they may not cost much individually but, in bulk, will bring in the cash), and be careful not to spend on anything but necessary barn expansion items, as needed, for a while. Make as many products as you can yourself so you save money.

You'll get lots and lots of different tips from everyone and as you browse the forum, so just pick and choose what sounds right for you to incorporate.

I've already explained about the extra advantages of the boat so I don't need to repeat that. Tip on truck orders: You can tear off and trash any order you don't like. It will be replaced by a new one that may be better for you in about 30 minutes.

The mine won't be available until Level 24. While it has the advantage of giving random diamonds, you can't really do much with the ore until you have smelters to make the ore into bars (which takes a long time) and then use those bars in the Jewelry kiosk. THEN you can fill truck orders for jewelry and get colored vouchers. It's a personal choice to wait on the mine.
