Some Clashers seem to think changing their language will have some sort of effect on their matchmaking, & what they find.
However, if this "exploit" really worked why do you have to contact SuperCell to change your region?
What do YOU think?

The languages, I believe, are on different servers than others. I'm not totally sure though.
I believe it works, not because each language has its own search cue, but there are several search servers. Changing the language and reloading the game simple changes the searching server.
Of course this is all speculation, but it explains how players in same trophy range can have very different loot searches.

if the language changes the loot you find... try changing your language and looking at the top players for trophies.
It will say your current region no matter what language you change it to, because the language that you use while playing doesn't affect any other players around you. Any one else who says otherwise are delusional.
I believe that when you quit the app and reload it reloads a different server AEB globals changing and may have an effect on loot on different servers. changing languages IMO is the same as logging off and jumping back on as thats what it does when you change languages... if anything it's more region specific so you would want to go to a language that is latenight/ early morning

It feels like effecting since it gave me to raid same guy 3 times in one language and when i changed language didnt see the same dude again. You can even see the name of the players are changing as you change language.

Technically, it does affect the matchmaking because you will see different bases. That doesn't mean it makes a difference in the amount of loot you see.

This exactly. If languages each had their own servers why do we scroll through so many Chinese players for example? You could say well that could be because English is the default language and they are simply playing it on the default language. What sort of rationale would we have to find the exact same spread of Chinese/Korean/Japanese players on Norsk or Chinese/Korean/Japanese servers respectively then? Completely none. Try changing to Chinese and see if you're only finding Chinese players...Quote:

I am almost positive that this works. Just look at the names of the players in different languages.
I find various players whenever I search -- Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and European-sounding IGNs. (Obviously I can distinguish the first three due to the characters/letters in the IGN.) So I think this is baseless.

I don't really think there is anything in this, on the odd occaision i've tried it I haven't noticed any difference to the types of names which appear in the search. I see loads names with middle and far easten text in the "english" search and loads of names with the latin letters in the far easten search.
I also don't see the logic to it which I would be grateful if the believers could explain. Why would Supercell set matchmaking up in such a way from an infratructure point of view? There must be some in the community with a sufficient IT background to be able to explain this.
The key question though is whether there is an effect on the loot in the bases. Surely regardless of our opinions we can just test it. 100 or 200 nexts, note down the loot, work out the average, change server and repeat.
It works. In the morning I take English and in the afternoon I switch to Japan/Korea and you get matched to localized bases where the timezone matches shield expiration. Voila... awesome loot.

To those that state 'why then do I see Chinese names in the English language setting', have you ever considered that those in China are changing their language to English to search out English bases? Same applies to finding English names when searching on Chinese language, perhaps they are other English players that have changed their language to Chinese?

Personally I don't think it makes a difference.
I'd like to see a study with more data, maybe 1000 searches on each language at the same time over a few days, maybe 100 a day. And over several languages maybe 5. But until then I think its hard to say yes or no.

Changing languages changes the servers, so yes it can affect matchmaking.
I can tell you that it makes no difference in matchmaking. A week ago I raided a member of our alliance while I was in Norske. I asked him on gb what server he was on, he replied that he was on English. So I know without a doubt that it's false.

Yes, that is what I mean. You can just close out and relog, but for me it is faster to hit settings and change language. For me it basically comes down to 1 question. Do you think there is one universal search cue or multiple. If you think there is only 1, then you are in the boat where nothing you do can affect things. I believe there are multiple and a way to switch between them is changing language.Quote:

After nexting 200 times in multiple languages, I haven't seen a difference in loot (gold, elixir, or de). Occasional outliers, but overall very very similar. Also I've found that individuals of all ign's (Chinese, English, etc.) exist on multiple languages. I doubt that SC would create multiple servers for each separate language, simply because that would separate the playerbase and ultimately could lead to exploits such as being able to log onto a server which is not frequented often and being "safe" from attacks. To circulate any loot available from inactives or very moderate players, SC likely keeps one server that will offer every individual base up for grabs. This would also help to keep individuals from finding the same player as often (not that it doesn't happen). This is just my speculation.

I believe this is true as when I change to Chinese, I start seeing more Chinese names and clans. And often loot is much better in certain languages and it works for everyone.
I think it does, I get much more various results with each different one I use, and it's no coincidence, the chances of it not affecting it seeing my results is very low.

I'll repeat myself again. Changing language doesn't doesn't give you magic loot, but what it does is reload the game and perhaps switch you to a different searching cue. The matchmaking system is as SC response, but are you positive there is one universal server cue for each trophy range? I don't have the SC stats, but let us use trophy ranges 1500-1700. How many players are searching or in the cue at any given time. I believe in order to support the number of people, there must be separate servers for searching/matchmaking even within the given trophy range. At higher Champions level, there could very well be only 1 due to the lower number of players in that range.
