In general though, in my opinion the forum tends to be a place for two kinds of people:
The general clash forum community, people for whole this is a second home, they know all the people - tease, launch, cry all in equal measure - I personally (as a player) love this community, sure we have our differences but hey.
A place for people who don't use the forums much to come and express an opinion - maybe it's an idea, maybe it's a support issue they are getting frustrated about, but quite often it's a complaint.
Now the regulars often do have genuine grievances - balloons being over powered in the early days, levels, loot, hogs, builder lag are things that come to mind - but they also value being here more than the grievance they have at the moment in time so they are not destructive to the community - there are very few regulars who are trolls.
The problem is people who have a single issue of some nature they feel strongly enough about that they want to express their displeasure and sometimes this means upsetting others.
So how do we deal with them - we can argue with them, we can tell them they are noobs, we can make them feel unwanted.
Or we can show them who we are as a warm, thriving, generous and helpful community and put our arms over their shoulders virtually and hope that they will realise this is not a place to be disruptive but one worth spending time in and becoming a part of.
It's time to hug a troll guys - it confuses them, it disarms them.
So the next time we get someone raging about the loot try saying yes it's not great, but which clan are you from how long have you been playing are you enjoying the game, what strategy do you use, do you have any ideas about how to improve the game.....that kind of thing.
Anyway thanks for reading i'll go back to modding now.
