I never get raided...
This new update hasn't really effected me much since im a big healer giant guy!
Loot is harder for me to save now, but then again, everyone is finding it harder. I can win back my losses with attacks.
I voted yes but ONLY because minutes after the update I was attacked by a hog army, lost 400k resources, decided to upgrade to TH10 and changed my layout. Since then I have been ok and have held off hogs and balloon armies with relative ease.
Inferno towers on multi have played a massive part in that though and Im positive its only these that have helped me. Im sure anyone under TH10 is finding it hard.
I like it. I usually get just 1, sometimes 2 storages raided by all out attacks. But in return I only need to destroy 2 for 200k. And I often do more than that. 300+k raids are pretty common and not to mention the sweet DE!

My issue isnt the offense, its the defense. My loot per raid hasnt rly changed, but I lose significantly more resources on defense to th9s (im a th8), even though my th is outside. So, i farm up abt 150k a raid, but as soon as i log off i get smashed for 300k, making it very hard to save loot.
I get raided about the same amount as before maybe less. It takes longer to find raids therefore get less raids in. This means I have trouble counteracting my losses when I get raided.
I did yes due to ppl epically failing attacks on my base sometimes something simple like not getting rid of wizzies

What I've noticed is an increased gap between uber well defended bases with loots of loot, and everyone else.
If I aim for only Gold/Elixir I can actually raid more on average - however droughts are even worse than they were before this system (weekends as an example)
What I am really struggling with is when I raid for Gold/Elixir and DE. People right now do not seem to have large amounts of both. If you are willing to go up in trophies (at least high crystal) its allot better but the disco infernos have pushed out allot of TH9 - meaning that if your not a Th10 its a rough place to be right now.

Although I don't really notice any difference in my defensive losses, overall I am able to raid a bit more loot than before (but I do have to search longer to find it) so my storages are filling up quicker than they did prior to the loot system update.

With my intensively played nearly maxed th9 I'm having a great time farming (allthough I have to press the next button a lot), but with my casually played th8 2nd account it really has become hard to get over 2M in my storages, unless I set my th9 aside and go farming seriously with my th8.

I'm having no problems saving loot for whatever i need currently, even though as soon as I log off I get 2-3 starred by a powerful th9 army and lose 300k gold 1.8k DE and 450k+ elixir (I never collect my pumps as I'm usually close to max and I'm a bit OCD about loot being lost out of the system)
These losses are negligible in my opinion compared to the 6-10 mil I raid on a usual day, and they usually give me a 16 hour shield which allows me to do whatever I need to do without feeling like I have to be online all the time.
Oh man so many problems saving loot. I'm th8 and Every time I get to 3 mil I'm storage a th9/10 sweeps down and takes me for 300k. Which then takes me three raids to make back.... then it happens all over again.
When I'm between 2mil and 3 I only get rofl stomped by 9's.
Wow, I didn't think, that people even save less! To be honest, I save more than ever since the update - this is the only advantage I have to admit. For the rest I hate this update! And actually I can't say if this is due to the new loot system or due to my farming tactics.
Overall, it's somewhat harder, but not impossible, for me to save up. I'm not losing much on defense thanks to the snipers, but loot is so hard to find it's taking the joy out of the game. Before the update, I didn't bother attacking a base unless it had 200K and I thought I could get it. Now, I average about 150K gold per attack at TH8, but the truth is, I'm just not playing much because it's not that much fun to next so much for so little loot.
I share a TH7 account with my kids, and it regularly experiences full-blown storage raids by TH8s for less than 30K gold. People are desperate.
I am a Th9 now and was a very lucky th8. The giant buffs happened on the backside of my Th8 experience so I had a very hard to crack base and didn't suffer often due to that.
Anyway - what sorts of comps are doing this? I know as a Balloon user and even as a TH8 with mass drag - a skilled aerial attack will stomp most TH8. Now with the increase in loot caps Hogs become an issue as well (since the value of a 3 star went up) - this comp in a skilled players hands is also going to flatten most TH8.
Just curious what the environment is like right now. As a Th9 balloons and hogs are the big guns running around. Depending on Trophy ranges Giant/Healer users are still a threat but can't produce the devastation the first two can. But a Th9 can at least design a base to minimize the damage from these types of attacks

I think it would be easier if substantial storage raids weren't as scarce. I usually only find 300k in storages once or twice a day
I don't think I'd have been able to save as much if I hadn't moved my TH outside. It wouldn't have been so bad if I had a big loss of 200- 400K then got a shield. It's when a bunch of people get 60K and don't give you a shield, it adds up quick overnight.
Agreed. My TH is now fully outside in Masters III, like many others. It NEVER used to be like this.
I was always winning the first defence, but losing between 200 and 400k (gold and elixir combined) and then getting hit again for the same. Losing this time due to no CC or trap assistance.
If a TH3 ever fancied reaching Champions League, now might be a good time. ;)
Personally I think town halls outside are a big part of the problem. Too many guys hiding loot behind cheap shield.
Change the system so you get a shield only at 40%. None of this lame townhall shield. Then there would be a lot more stores raids available. And defense would actually be exciting!
That is one of the reasons you see high loots in masters. Very few th outside. No lame shields.

No it is a problem cause farmers are getting cheap shields and giving themselves in ultimate defense. Completely taking themselves out of the attack queue.
Now who do you think has the most in stores? Farmers. And 99% of them are shielded. When in crystal1 you can attack even a max th10 and not even worry about a revenge! Cause some noob th5 is going to give you a free shield within five minutes of logging off! BROKE!
Loot would be a whole lot better if they took away that farm shield....
Edit: Farm shields are just as cheap as champs using auto tappers or friend revenge shields.
Is this a game of attacking and defending? Or just attack when you feel like it and never be seriously attacked cause you got a farm shield.
I've been farming at 1500-1700 since the update. The first week I struggled but now I have no trouble finding loot (+300k each is not uncommon). Not just from TH8s, which are my main prey, but I also frequently run into abandoned bases. I'm seeing the same from other clan members so I'm not really sure what's going on if so many of you are struggling.. :confused:
I voted yes only because I have had the gold for all of my upgrades that Ive started. As for elixir, Im usually maxed while waiting to use it in the lab.
However, my 5 mill archer tower upgrades are next and I see them to be my first issue.
For every reaction there is an opposite and equal reaction...... Applies to most of science, and also does in Clash. Sure I can take lots from someone else, but they can do the same to me, effectively making the loot change useless. I'm not seeing many with full storages so I average 150k a raid, when a TH9 roflstomps me the second I log off for 300k of ea, it just means I have to take an extra 20-30mn raiding just to get back what was stolen. Not really liking that I have to spend upwards of 3 hours just to get 2 walls and an archer tower done (TH8, means I have to raise about 2.5m gold for two walls and a level 9 AT). I do in fact, have a life and I don't have the time to raid that much usually. I know there are the hardcore farmers who play like 4-5 hours a day every day that say that it makes sense that those who spend the most time on this game will prosper the most. But, it seems like everyone forgets that this is, in fact, a mobile game. I should be able to put it down for 5 minutes or so without being destroyed and taking three steps backwards for saving for upgrades.

The only reason you are able to save more is because you game long sessions. If you would have played casually logging in and out all the time, say in lunch breaks etc. Then you would be at a loss. If you loose 300k logging off, and only makes about 100k each raid, that means you must commit yourself to about an hour of play at the least to ensure a profit breaking your shield.

The update increased how much you can lose unless you have some negligible amount, so what kind of a question is this? And why are people voting yes?
I can't really save loot that I don't have, so no.
I usually don't get attacked much because I'm like always online, probably why I can still save enough for my upgrades. But I have been having trouble finding loot since the Christmas boost. Takes an average of over 50 next to find a decent base to loot from.
please don't shoot me if I say something that has already been said but I didn't want to read 40+ threads just to give my opinion.
to say that I am able to save more since the update im not really sure. in reality I am as I upgraded to th9 a week before xmas so with my new stores I am able to save more, an extra 2 mill more. I am probably one of the few that has always been able to raid my way through the upgrades. I have never had a builder idle and I have got all lvl 8 walls and now got 21 lvl 9. so I am a farmer. I always have gold and elixir.i got lvl 6 giants at 6 mill and then just started lvl 6 archers at 7.5 mill. I don't see the problem with loot. I don't mind searching for a few minutes. sometimes I do give up and try again 5 mins later. maybe im just being more picky. ive started to go for no less than 200k of each. I don't bother much about de as my builders are always too busy for hero's but if I do get a stash of de I do then upgrade my heros so it doesn't get raided from me.

Honesty though I would have absolutely no problem loosing 300k per raid, provided I can almost always find 200-300k every time I go out to raid. But I don't. I'm lucky to find that kind of raid once a day.
At least under the old system when someone took me for 200k I could make that back in a raid and a bit. Why? Because it was easy to find 150-200k based. Which covers your losses.
Now it takes forever just to find a 110k base. So it's three raids before I'm in the green again.... as long as someone else doesn't come around and rofle stomp me again.

I have absolutely no problem with people who play more advancing faster. Where I draw the line though is having to play more just to advance.
It's their own fault for playing the game like a mobile game? That makes absolutely no sense.
Also that style of play is what we had until a month ago. You could break your shield an make a quick 150/200k and then let your troops cook and go do something else. Once they were done come back and do it again.
I progressed playing like that easily. Now you can't. You can't make the 300k back in 1 to 1.5 raids anymore unless you get really lucky.
Some of us can't sit on our phones for 4 hours straight grinding for our upgrades.
I'm just completely stuck right now. TH9, 2000 trophies. I'm trying to save for the l6 upgrades so my armies can actually stand a chance against the better bases but it's almost impossible to come out positive on raids. Counting spells, it takes me at least 90k elixir per attack, and for the bases I'm able to raid, I usually can't get more than 100k elixir. Using more than one spell is guaranteed net loss.
When my base gets raided I usually lose about 200k elixir. Two of those attacks a day wipes out any I've made from collectors, and as I said attacking isn't yielding elixir.
I would like to see the bonus elixir for leagues greatly increased. I'm in crystal and get a meager 21k per raid - I have to ask myself why I even bother with trophies at all. That's not even enough to cover one spell. It should be like 80k so that if I win, I'm guaranteed back most of what I spent to battle, even if the other base didn't have much elixir to take.
Im currently a TH8. I lose more (higher loot cap) and gain less (lower loot percentage, removal of loot bonus).
probably th9 or 10 is not as affected as the lower ths.
True. The intention was for everyone to have more raids from storages rather than collectors. However very few people I find have much in the storages and I myself am among the few people with constantly full storages, making me a prime target for TH10 or TH9. Basically, I dont find many storage raids (like the rest of us) and I am victim to storage raids. Lose lose for me but I am still able to get through my upgrades and stuff at TH9 (not a premmie). So its harder to save up but its okay
The problem is I am losing more on defense which leads to making it impossible to save up. But I did find 2 great raids. I got about 400,000 gold and 200,000 elixer on a raid with a cheap barb, archer army. Also I found about 600 DE from drills alone in a village I attacked. I had sniped the TH and used the rest of my troops to get the DE. 600 is a lot for a TH7
My answer is yes, primarily because I've continued upgrading troops since the last upgrade. Easier to win, easier to save.

Oh I can definitely crush TH8 bases, but I sure as hell am not getting the great loot. Remember that there's still a penalty for attacking lower level TH bases. The only bases I see with good loot (relatively good, where I break even in elixir), are the inactive ones with tons in their collectors.
After a lot of votes, it seems that not only me is perceiving that we are not able to save more after last update. At ~75 % to ~25 % is undeniable something went wrong.
Any comments from SC/Staff about these results?
Much harder to both raid and save for upgrades since the last update. I will say only I got infernos I have been able to save up pretty much like I could pre update. Without infernos as a high level th9, I was getting slaughter once the update came out.
Today I farmed for about 3 hours total off and on and I have less gold than when I started. I had search times of 27, 22, 19, and 16 minutes to find no gold. And of course the minute I log off I get miniballed and max dragooned for 700k in losses. The losses don't bother me too much as that's part of the game. But for gods sakes supercell we have to be able to farm.
Please dont tell tell me to change my trophy range. I've looked from 2400 all the way down to 1400 as a th9 and there is zero gold. The only thing that is keeping me from quitting is the de raiding has been good and I'm praying that supercell will realize they had a system that made this game on of the most popular iOS games ever before they decided to completely ruin it.
Please listen ten to your customers and do something about it.
I've been losing more on defense and not getting as good storage raids since this new update. the new loot system probably has only gotten me better/saves my loot like a total of 15 times which isn't even close to making up for the 100 other times.
I'm all for blaming the new loot system.
My gold storage is 99% of 2 million full now...waiting for my TH to upgrade complete...lol
This is more of an issue for TH9 and 10, even a little 8. It takes too long with this horrible loot, and one gem boost is no good when there is no loot. If there was good loot, I'd rather spend $5 a week on gems to barrack boost.

The community manager even showed up, stating "what's up", as if nothing had happened/everybody had forgotten that we were "half-way" through the loot update....
But, since one of the major reasons (stated by SC itself) for this (imo failed) loot update was to let us be able to save more, and after this poll, we are perceiving against all analytical evidence from SC, that this objective has failed so far, I wouldn't mind an answer how this objective is going to work out.
Since we are perceiving that this not working right now, are we 3/4 through the loot update, maybe back to 1/3..?

Oh ya no I get all of that and it would be awesome if they actually came through and said anything.
But there is a 99.9% chance that they ignore this thread like they've ignored every other thread.
That or they'll come back in like they did the last time an just tell us the system is working and they are looking into nexting. No there are no plans to fix the loot system, it's working as intended.
I think that we're through the "hard" part of the update. They said a month at most, we're there.
All that shows us is that this update wasn't about saving loot or making it easier to find huge raids. It was about the transition of CoC from Pay to Move faster ----> Pay to Play.
The more I've thought about this I think their is 1 resource that truly needs attention.

And I think SC dug this hole long ago. Gold has the biggest sink of any resource, walls. SC could increase the amount of gold available and still have a problem because of this sink. I can find elixir and I can find DE - which I am beginning to think is why I am happier than most. I am big into raiding for DE.
If SC would address any resource issue, I sincerely hope they will address gold in some way. And honestly I am not sure if production from mines will necessary offset the loot available in raids right now. But its obvious to me that aren't in a high league (where defense upgrades are also high in cost) where they get a serious gold boost and aren't low enough to get collector raids into the mix - then things are scarce. I feel like there isn't a place for a hybrid player like me to really play the way I like.

Now that I'm TH9 even elixir is getting hard to save. I'm not even trying to save gold or DE anymore, just doing walls and buying nexts. As for DE I just leave it lying around until I have enough to upgrade my heroes. You'll see me and my empty coffers around gold I. Enjoy nexting past me.
hmm I must be doing something wrong if so many of you can't get loot :S I make easy 2-5 mil gold a day and some 30k DE and I do work and go to the gym plus wife so I do not play all day, I find very big loots like 400k and up a lot only with few searches , loot never been this good for me (if not counting those boost weeks)
I can't seem to find any bases with over 100k+ Loot anything! But when I get raided, I'm giving them like 146k gold and 373k elixer and 1.6k de. (I looked at recent raid which I got 100%ed by a guy using Hogs, Wizards, and Archers + 2 Healers and Heal & Rage)
This poll isn't about finding loot but whether or not it is easier to save up for the more expensive upgrades like SC said it would be. Since it's almost impossible to go above 3 mil without getting rofl stomped by someone I'd say it's not easier to save up at all.
Yes i can still save 8,001,000 gold, it just takes a little longer
