Hi fellow clashers, i am just curious to know what you all think are the best troops or best troops combo in a clan castle to defend your base. Lets assume that your clan castle is maxed out, having 30 troops capacity and your clan castle is centralised.
My opinion: I think minions are one of the best troops to defend as they are fast in moving and they deal quick damage to units.
What you guys think?Pls share ;););)
IMO, I'd say wizards are the best. The reason I say that is because high lvl wizards can take care of many armies due to their heavy splash damage, so basically, if you attack with ONLY giants and there's wizards in the clan castle, you are doomed..
7 Wizards and 2 Archers. Wizards = awesome splash, while the Archers = cheap and fills the other 2 slots. :D

From a farming perspective:
wizards are really good all around. they attack both ground and air but very susceptible to the lightning spell. but even when the attacker drops a lightning spell on the wizards, they usually can get one or two shots off. And that is usually enough to kill a good portion of the giants.
Dragons are not as good as many of you think. with giants tanking in a healing spell, well placed archers can make short work of them.
The most underrated CC troops is the balloons. They don't die to one lightning, and burst out unhealable damage. 1 balloon 1 shot is 400+ damage. so 3 of them will 1 shot a clumped up group of giants. The only drawbacks is they don't attack air.
Archers are cheap/accessible units in CC.
Wizards, archers, and valks,

I'll go against the consensus here and say Minions.
Wizards are very very nice too, but they are many troops (Barbs, Giants, Gobs, Balloons, Golems, Valks) that can't attack air units, and are completely defenseless against minions. Wizards are better suited to survive lightening attacks though.
Wizards and ONE Goblin.
Wiz healer combo! Invincible wizard? No brainier!
Overall wizards.
Dragons are good, as are archers. Witches can be very useful too.
Minions are poop.
This is a tough question, and changes for the different trophy ranges that you are in. When I farm I like to have either 30 barbarians( Don't die with a lightning) or a dragon and a balloon. Air troops kill me when I'm farming cause I only use barbs and archers. When trophy pushing I like to have 2 witches, a wizard and two archers in my cc. The wizard splash is destructive, and the witches create meat shields to protect you defenses. If i'm getting hogged alot I like to have 30 goblins in my cc, or 6 loons. Hope this helps!
I prefer to have wizards in the cc, they deal awesome splash damage and don't die with one lightning.
My favorite in CC for defence is witches. If you have good cc placement, 2 witches will just keep summoning skeletons while your defences clean up troops.
It won't matter very much , sadly as hoggies know they have to lure, go wipe and go wiwi wipes the floor with any cc troop(could even be detrimental as they suck in your troops to the center).
Wizards are the best for sure! High splash damage, what else do you need? ;)

Minions. They have a very high DPS when all 15 of them combine together. Daddy did a video on this that explains it deeper in detail!
Witches do quite well, but I'm going to go with wizards. They're reasonably fast movers, speedy attackers, and do huge, devastating amounts of damage even with splash.
Goblins though... I've seen them detonate giant + healer strategies. Goblins are one of the fastest troops in the game with 32 movement speed, rivaling that of the minion. Minions are sure better, since they do more damage, but goblins are probably the most underrated clan castle troops in the game.
IMO, the best are Minions, Balloons, and Valkyries.
I got wiped once with a Dragon/Witch combo. But probably Wizard/Witch would do the same.

Witches, but for air attacks wizards mainly. Overall wizards since you don't really need witches nor do many people donate them in farming family's/clans.
It really depends what you are being raided with. On a hog raid where the cc isnt cleared, wizs or minions are both good cause their high damage. On a balloonians raid, wizs are probably best. on a giant raid, if the raider doesnt clear the CC, lvl 6 balloons can do ridiculous damage if they can catch up to the troop and get a shot at them. Valks can do well cutting through a horde of barbs or archers. A witch can be great if she stays behind the walls and the opponents continuously cut down her skeletons, but she can also be killed easily by a lightning spell. Overall, my favs are archers, minions, and wizs, cause they all are versatile and good.
Just heads up, goblins have the same speed as minions. And wizards are quite overwhelmingly considered strongest. I love it when people have balloons in the CC, lure it and drop one minion or two and they fly there and then crash and burnQuote:

Witches or wizards work better then all else
I am partial to a dragon, 2 wizards, and 2 archers.
One of my most recent defenses, attacked with 43 maxed hogs and an appropriate amount of healing spells, they managed to kill all of my defenses, but at the end my barbarian king met up with the remaining 8 or so damaged hogs (he found 5 of my spring traps at 3 hogs per trap along with normal defense attrition) and kept them still long enough for the dragon to finish them off. The attacker got less than 1000 gold and around 2000 elix, and my th9 storages were above 2.9 mil, so he had 320k of each (he was th10) available to loot.

- Health isn't great

- Chunky HP
- Good damage

Cons:
- Slow...
- The damage they deal can be healed fast
Bloons:
Pros:
- Pretty good HP
- Amazing damage
- Air troop
- Good splash damage
Cons:
- Slow
- Can't attack air
So I would go for Bloon/Wizard
Definitely Wizards due to their high attack strength + splash damage and then 2 archers:) You should be good for any attack against your defense:)
Wizards.They are the best.
I usually receive hogs or minions... but wizards are definitely on the list. Dragons aren't though, they're pretty slow and would be bad on a well spread out base.
