Best all around? Wizards, imo.
Witches, but for air attacks wizards mainly. Overall wizards since you don't really need witches nor do many people donate them in farming family's/clans.
It really depends what you are being raided with. On a hog raid where the cc isnt cleared, wizs or minions are both good cause their high damage. On a balloonians raid, wizs are probably best. on a giant raid, if the raider doesnt clear the CC, lvl 6 balloons can do ridiculous damage if they can catch up to the troop and get a shot at them. Valks can do well cutting through a horde of barbs or archers. A witch can be great if she stays behind the walls and the opponents continuously cut down her skeletons, but she can also be killed easily by a lightning spell. Overall, my favs are archers, minions, and wizs, cause they all are versatile and good.
I only get giant/healer or hog attacks so 1 dragon and 2 balloons works well for me.
Archers and wizzies for me~:)
Witches or wizards work better then all else
I am partial to a dragon, 2 wizards, and 2 archers.
One of my most recent defenses, attacked with 43 maxed hogs and an appropriate amount of healing spells, they managed to kill all of my defenses, but at the end my barbarian king met up with the remaining 8 or so damaged hogs (he found 5 of my spring traps at 3 hogs per trap along with normal defense attrition) and kept them still long enough for the dragon to finish them off. The attacker got less than 1000 gold and around 2000 elix, and my th9 storages were above 2.9 mil, so he had 320k of each (he was th10) available to loot.
