I am a little underwhelmed, but I DID get the Golden Carp and Golden Xander I needed to fill those pages. And I am rocking towards the fishing achievement, so there's that.

True, they're freebies, but I'm still a little disappointed especially after seeing all the gold vouchers some won. If I remember correctly, one person posted 5 gold vouchers as final prize and won several others as interim prizes. And I did win 3 purple vouchers. Could have been worse. Best thing--for me anyway--is that this event is finished, as fishing is very frustrating for me. Maybe when using my two shovels I'll find some diamonds in the mine. Hope springs eternal!

I kind of like this event. You get to keep your fish, so you're not seeing the sudden shortage like with the sweaters and popcorn.

Errrr, not sure what you mean, bcos U do get diamonds for the new fish. Have you actually caught any? It won't highlight until you catch one:). Don't know how to attach the same picture I put up earlier on another thread but if u click on the link below and take a look at the attached pic, the twinkly stars over the fish show I have unclaimed diamonds to collect. Hi Shealie, John (BOROYOB) that has the fishing threads apparently caught a bronze weight Carp with a worm hook! So if u still have lots of hooks, try and see if you can get any special fish with them. U can check out the fishing threads for more info on how to catch them, etc. All the best!Quote:

Not that I'm ungrateful, but man, dynamite, nails and bolts(nails and bolts are all I ever get, I don't need more), they need to rework the distribution of prizes.
The prizes are not free either, we work hard to earn vouchers that are need to fish for this event. Just wish the prizes were a bit more equal to using those vouchers.
Same here, made all goals, but can only fish once a new lure is ready, so about once per hour approx. I'm at 500 something lbs now. Using this event to get a little closer to the big game fisher achievement :)Quote:

I'd love if rewards included things like larger numbers of mining equipment (like 4-8 shovels or something). I never have enough platinum ore!
I always have too much platinum ore! I sell it in 10-packs daily. (I'm doing that "send Tom for shovels and mine enough diamonds to hire him again" thing. No way to use all that ore, even with all smelters fully expanded.)
So far, I've gotten 2 TNT, 2 screws, and 2 purple vouchers. Can't complain, I guess. It's all stuff I need. I can always using mining stuff, screws are the expansion item I needed most, and purple is the voucher color I need most.
I'm going for my third gift at 100lbs, can anybody tell me how much weight the 4th one is?

I try to look at it this way....technically, you only need to get the first goal to get 5 diamonds in the end..15 lbs of fish (or whatever it was) for 5 diamonds? Heck yeah!!! You're gonna fish anyway, so all the goal bonuses are just extra prizes.
I hate fishing, but this event has helped me stock up for future orders so I'm happy about that!
Also, I know that there are even more diamonds waiting for me in my fish book (which I have told myself I'm not allowed to look at until after the event is over ;)

When the event first began, all 8 of my fishing spots were occupied with nets and lobster traps, so I had to wait about 2 hours, I think it was, before I could even begin participating in this event.

I'm 19 pounds away from my 4th goal at this time.
Another plus is that I finally got 2 of the BIG fish: Yesterday, caught my first Zander (silver) and today nabbed my first Carp (bronze), so this event also helped me get 3 more diamonds. :D
2 saws, 1 gold voucher, 2 purple vouchers, 2 bolts and finally 3 planks.
Love fishing for these big fish and it's also helping me get closer to Big Game Fisher III:)

I probably would have fished just as much if there wasn't an event because I just recently opened the fishing area, but I probably wouldn't have used nearly as many vouchers. I've got most of the pets I want though and it was worth it to personally complete an event. Plus I got a few diamonds from catching new fish.
