I tried gold 2, it took 50k to find a decent raid. I've tried 1700-1800, almost the same deal. Should I try gold 1 for collector raids? It took me 2 days of solid playing time to buy my first xbow, mainly because I was jumping around a lot

Now I realize I'm adding fuel to the fire with another loot thread..
Well I guess you can try silver 1, I had a few good raids there, I mainly stick to gold 3/silver 1, but loot has been dry for a while.

If you're a Th9 and is confident enough to crush hall 8, then go for gold I (1700-1900). Sometimes you might find an inactive btw.
Don't stay too low, 'cus you won't be able to farm on hall 7 anymore.

it's normal that you'll find the loot goes down because now if you attack a TH7 you get 50% penalty instead of 10%. Also now you are at TH 9 with a TH 8 army, but you get a 10% penalty on TH 8, so everything gets harder.
this has been well documented, it's why it's better to upgrade everything at TH 8 before going to TH 9.
When you get stronger troops (lvl 6), another spell and upgrade camps, you'll be able to raid the TH 10's which should balance out the loss from TH 7's.
In any event, it's always harder at the start of a TH.
I have no issues 1500-1650
You will find as you get further and further with th9, that you will become more ballsier and attack harder people for your loot, who will be holding more loot, with the better troops you gain through researching. Keep moving around cups to find the better sweet spot for yourself, and good luck :)
I myself have to move in between 1600-2200 most weeks, which yes is a pain, but helps a lot to find those juicy raids.

I maxed my TH8 and going into TH9 with max storage. And I had no trouble farming enough to max my X-bows, mortars and Wizard Towers.... max the troops for archers, giants, barbs, balloons, minions....
But in the last few weeks, my progress has suddenly slowed to a crawl, so much so that I currently have 2 builders free, previously never happened! I have to press Next so many times before I can find a decent loot in an attackable base. The trophy range I have tried is 1500-2000, no difference to me.
Yep, I just got to TH9 myself and can't find anything at 1600 + trophies, goldII. Not sure if it's because of that maintenance update last week or what? Zero collector base raids. Thankfully I maxed out all my storages before I left TH8 and was able to build some big stuff immediately, but I'll be in trouble trying to acquire more resources after. Ugh, I miss TH7
