It seems to me that it may not be worth upgrading the Barb King and Archer Queen.... The improvement is minuscule and they take longer to regenerate with each level... Better to have them regenerate quickly than take a 1% "improvement"....

i just upgraded my Burger King to level 2 and I can see the difference... Slightly.
I personally don't rate the heroes at all for this exact reason - the effort in upgrading them to a point where they can make a difference just doesn't seem worth it to me.
This is just my opinion and I do respect others who like them - but I just don't get it with these troops
Personally, I can see the difference between a level 1 and level 2 BK.
But somehow, even the 6 mins difference is quite distinct to me as well..
Gonna level my BK to level 3 tomorrow hopefully.
But i believe i will miss the 1 hour regen time in the future, but its a trade off i guess.
This is exactly my point... I have level 3 and it bugs me that it takes longer to regenerate... Sure, it slightly better (I guess) but I may stop upgrading due to the time factor.Quote:

Just don't let the bk take dmg this is not hard to do. I use him every battle and usually he rests 10 minutes after a fight where he gets hit (lvl 2). Make the defenses either focus on something else or make your BK have full hps by the end of the battle. (Healers do heal the heroes)
Aslong as you slowly upgrade it so it's 30 by the time you go trophy hunting then it'll be worth it. I just use it whenever as a freebie and look at it more as something that will become useful later as an investment. Once you are onto longer army building time a free 30 hero could be the difference in winning or losing.
Mine is still low this is just how I think about it.
If you have the DE then do it. There's no point not to. If you decide not to then leave your DE storages outside your wall so those of us who want to upgrade ours can receive help from you. :)

With the update that lower regen times to 1-4 hours, I would say do it. It's not like you can spend the dark elixir on anything else (unless you really need those air mines).
I like both the Barb King and the Archer Queen, mine are level 4 and I really do not use them much in offense. I look at it to use for later in the game (time thing) as looking back, the game started in August and I have yet leveled a lot of my defenses.The walls for one are just as time consuming in my opinion. I think as time goes on the Dark Elixir will become more available.
