My TH8 base is maxed out expect for my walls, BK, and hogs. I was planning to gem my BK to lvl 10, hogs lvl 4 and 50-70 walls lvl 8. Should I do this? (P.S. Im not going to upgrade my TH!) I have 9,000 gems to work with (its Christmas iTunes cards :rolleyes:)

Hey, hum usually when i use gems. I use them for boosting collectors and farming it really helps me!!

Think about this...if you can't patiently farm your BK, Walls, and troops NOW, how are you going to succeed at TH9?
I maxed TH8 except hogs golems valks (I never use them) and I learned how to effectively farm resources. It's made the difference as I have run through th9 very quickly.

I can see why you would wanna gem the DE for the King and the Hogs so i would say -> use gems to fill up DE storage and max those.
I dont think you have to spend all of the gems though, filling your gold storages is a waste. You are much better off boosting your barracks and BAMMING for the remaining gold to upgrade your walls. Should you be so succesfull that you gather a ♥♥♥♥load of DE also... you could upgrade the golem.
With BAM you can get 300k gold collector raids every 15 mins. With boosting you can have that every 3/4 mins.. So if you have the time and the energy to play 4 hour stretches (i personally enjoy them very very much) that will be your better option.... imo
this will save you a lot of gems, those you can use to buy more DE when u want to go TH 9 and perhaps get and level the AQ?

that's true for geming. consider the time of playing is a way of improving attacking strategies and defending myself, geming for anything is a waste. but you can still do it because it's your money....
IMO, upgrade your TH9 (the loot is still pretty great in Gold 1), upgrade your lab (wait X days) and then use the gems to finish off your level 6 troops. Any excess gems use them to boost barracks.
