Clash of Charity

Instead of raiding for resources, what if we raid for charity. Attacks won, troop donations, and defense wins all contribute to the charity run. What if for 1 season, a company would donate money based on those stats. Every league would have different amounts you could earn for charity.

(1) For example: Champion- defense win would earn $1, attacks would earn $0.25, and every 1,000 troops donated could be worth $0.25.
(2) for example: Gold- defense win would earn $.25, attack would earn $0.10, and every 1,000 troops donated could be $0.25.

These are just ideal numbers, but as i said, every league has different amounts you could earn. Any ideas to add on? (Please note: These are just ideas, please add your suggestions)

This is moronic. Every single game I've played, someone has suggested this, but CoC is about war, not charity, and the CoC devs should be spending their time upgrading the interface, not adding in useless ♥♥♥♥. If you want to contribute to charity, then contribute to charity - it takes about two minutes to donate online. I contributed several hundred dollars to half a dozen charities over Christmas. I suggest starting with your local food bank, and avoid cancer charities like the plague - they blow around 40% on marketing, pretty much as bad in the waste department as the federal government. Food banks spend 5% or less on overhead, and the money goes a lot further.

What he said, but you may be generalizing cancer charities a bit, and also assuming that all food banks are good at what they do.

But CoC doesn't need a charity arm. It really really doesn't.

I can promise you if I didn't have a say in where the money went I would be very unlikely to contribute, and if they chose GreenPeace I'd probably rage quit.

Wow. This seems rather insensitive of the charities and companies that do SO MUCH GOOD in the world. I think that we should have 1 season every year where a portion of all supercell proceeds go to a certain charity. That would make everyone happy, I think...

Instead of buying gems, donate to the charity of your choice. There, now everyone is happy.

just give the money you would spend on the game and give it to a charity

Unfortunately, realism dictates the answer to this thread. Our human race is a nasty plague so hoping for these things to happen are as likely as winning the lottery. As someone said above, most charities are operated by greedy pigs, local charities are better off being donated; alternatively, you can research how much charities actually spend on their cause, many use .50 or less of every dollar donated. Kudos to the OP for optimism!

I always check the audited balance sheets before I donate to a major charity. So many big charities pay out hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual salary to their leadership and blow large amounts on marketing or flashy events. The cancer charities are especially bad in this area, which was why I singled them out. Even if they werent, however, it costs $100K to increase a cancer patient's lifespan by a few years, while that same $100K can feed 3.5 people for their entire lifetime. No-brainer, imho.
