Jewelry machine

Should I get it or save my money for the lobster pool and buying expansion material? The reason I'm questioning this machine is because it takes so long to produce the bars. I have only one smelter. Should I buy more? I'm on level 42, so it will be a long time until I level up to 44.

Only the truck orders ask for jewellery - if that helps you decide. You get XP and vouchers for the jewellery and bar orders.

I got the jewelry machine as soon as I could afford it. I was thinking it only took ore to make the jewelry so I thought I was all set - turns out it takes the bars and I didn't have any stocked up. I would wait if you only have one smelter, I have 3 going and struggle to keep the machine running. I wish I had saved the coins because I just leveled up to 42 and am about $90,000 away from the coffee kiosk and I really want it!

As for the lobster pool, I'm not sure - I just paid to repair my boat the other day and still have another day before its ready so I have no idea about anything in the fishing area.

All in all, I wish I had waited to buy the jeweller. Hope that helps! :)

I only have one smelter, never needed more than one, I am level 49. If I need one more piece of jewelry I can find it in the RSS.

I have five smelters, and still struggle to keep the jeweler supplied with metal bars. Smelters are just so slow.

Jewelry sells for a lot of money (by Hay Day standards), but I'm not sure it's worth it, because smelting the metal bars takes so long. (The jewelry itself doesn't take too long.) I've gotten hardly any truck orders for jewelry. I'm still getting more for the metal bars than for the jewelry.

If you hire Tom for a day and have him fetch 9 each of necklaces, bracelets, and rings you'll be set for a long time for jewelry orders. At least in my experience.

Really the only reason I produce jewelry is for the vouchers, but as an added bonus they are another way to make extra coins if you need them. I have all five smelters that I run non-stop. I usually don't run out of bars, but that's really only because I had Tom stock me up on bars when I first started so I had a big head start. I still send him out here and there to get bars I'm running low on, in between getting shovels for the mine when I need them. One thing I found, and maybe it's just me or it only happens to some of us but I find the shovels yield more ore and diamonds than the small and even the large dynamite. It would be interesting to know if anyone else has found this.

i get four ore for a shovel, three for TNT, and two for dynamite. Diamonds intermittently, but it seems to me, more frequently with shovels.

I'd never thought about using Tom for the bars, that's a great idea! I've been holding off on using him until I'm ready for my TT II & III but I might just do that because at this rate its going to take me forever to master the jeweller!

Definitely true. It doesn't make sense - you'd think TNT would bring the most - but it's shovels you want for the mine. You'll get the most ore and diamonds that way.

Yep, that is the same exact thing I experience! So if I need more ore and I'm using Tom, I always choose to get shovels.

Its been the exact same for me.

Yeah I spent a good solid two days getting bars through Tom, it has helped a lot as far as having the bars I need most of the time. The only problem some might have with staying ahead like that is barn space. You have to have a decently sized barn to accommodate all those extra bars along with all your other stuff. I do have a fairly large amount of space, but to save space I don't use my shovels until I need ore.

You're right but I stupidly thought in the beginning that the large TNT would give more than the small TNT and shovel, but it has never been true in my experience. Sometimes they produce 4 pieces of ore and a diamond, but no where as consistently as the shovels do.
