I haven't reached the town hall that brings dark elixir into play but I'm fascinated and just want to know if I were to use troops to gain DE would that be acceptable? You see because if neither option is acceptable then most will just go the easy way and zap!

Chances are that of you steal 700+ DE just from the storages, you'll get revenged

You sound like a premature base with too much loot, or someone who abandoned their account for too long.

So too bad, stop holding excessive loot and get online more regularly if your base cannot hold your loot.

I'm completely fine with people attacking me using troops and taking all of my DE.

By doing that they actually test my base and show that they actually have the skill to destroy my base (DE is at the center).

Using troops to get DE= Fine

Using spells to get DE= Person who zapped me is never heard from again.

Either way is fine.

However some people get really bent out of shape over people using lightning to grab DE and will stop at nothing to revenge them.

Excuse me I am online most of time and loot daily for the walls just I have to wait builder free for upgrading them..

Its right opponent coming for loot will not care about TH but all attacks on my base are from TH side which seems to be easy way to reach loot so to waste their more troops I have defence like that...

Ahh I misread, so you lost 200k gold & elixir?

That's not that much, maybe re-design your base.
