Please note, this is a generic concept and requires further thought...
Many of us have many, many different troop compositions. The heroes included can benefit troop compositions for many attributions. However, these troops are generally used for specific things... BK and AQ for funnelling, GW to keep bulk of troops alive, RC for defence elimination - of course, each hero are used for other reasons...
The concept is an Templar (or Altar) where you can ‘pick ‘n’ choose’ a hero depending on your army composition. You can only use one hero at a time on this alter, however, regeneration time is the same for every hero per level. However, there will not be as many as 20/50/70 levels as you normally see, but rather up to 10 levels. You cannot choose another hero until it has regenerated. Swapping a hero will cost resources and time. Each hero can be upgraded on its alter, but that alter cannot be used during upgrading time (thus no hero can be used in that Altar). Heroes abilities cannot be used when HV is under attack, instead, just there standard atk and def. Starts at TH12. The Altar cannot be upgraded, only the troops inside it. The alter will look like a golden barracks. Heroes cannot “sleep” but will constantly remain awake when being attacked. Will not cost extra to regenerate after being destroyed. Each mercenary hero is considered to be hired until sold for another mercenary hero.
The way each hero would work would differ. Here are some hero ideas... (at Max levels)
Triton: Follows bulk of troops. Provides troops within its radius a 20% chance to dodge defences. (Ground / Air selection). Effect Radius 12 tiles. 250 Attack / 3000HP. Uses a Long bow with a 5 tile range. 24 speed.
Executioner: Follow bulk of troops. Provides troops with additional attack bonus of 10% (Ground / Air selection). Effect Radius 12 tiles. Throws an Axe. Single target only (6 tile range) 250ATK / 3000HP. 18 speed.
Knight: ATK 0 / HP 16,000. Provides tanking for its heroes, it will remain in front of the nearest hero by 3 tiles in line with the most defences have been triggered. It will remain Immune to healer troop. (Ground / Air selection). Uses a shield. 30 movement speed.
Zeus: Follows bulk of troops. Deals random lightning damage to random nearby at random intervals buildings. Each lighting strike does up to 350ATK per hit: up to 3 lightning strikes per 10 seconds. Continues lightning damage until Zeus is destroyed. (Ground / Air Selection) Radius (14 tiles). Uses hammer. 150ATK / 3200HP
Loco: Follows bulk of troops. provides troops within its 9 tile radius the ability to attack its target 50% sooner (imaging how long it takes for an electro dragon to attack once’s locked, now half it). Punches it’s targets. 14 speed. Ground only but jumps walls. 120ATK / 3400HP
