I would say your wong with this statement. If this was a happy accident they would have changed one or the other already. Your forgetting this is a company who is in the business of making money. Until something drastic happens with gold pass purchases or cwl participation nothing will change.

I do not purchase the gold pass and have never been able to hold more than one BOH - of course if I did purchase it it would be much easier to manage the overflow. But I use my BOH before the CWL because I otherwise have too much resources midway through the month and don’t want to have Q or GW down ever. I also purchase the traders BOH every time I see it (I have 15000 gems from saving them since TH1).

So for me the season bank is largely a waste - while the silver pass is actually quite good otherwise. If it’s as intended then so be it, but SC does make QoL changes sometimes, even though they may lose money from it.

It's just 50k extra DE. Upgrade any hero with BoH right after season bank flows in. When you get the DE full in midway through the month, upgrade your BK. If you accumulate a lot before your king wakes up, use the DE for Lab research. Mostly, you'll get another BoH through CG or other events. All this will pass on to the end of season and you can use the excess DE along with BoH to upgrade your hero with no issues in CWL.

The part in bold is precisely why this change won't come. You want to have your cake and eat it too, and that's not gonna happen. You have two options, both of which have their pros and cons. Option 1: you use the free BoH as soon as you get it so you can upgrade your heroes midway through the season without having to keep your heroes down but the trade-off is you have a ton of DE dumped on you at the end of the season with nothing to do with. Option 2: you save your BoH for the end of the season so you can immediately use your whole season bank but the trade-off is the minor inconvenience of having to have one or more of your heroes down midway through the season.

This system as it currently stands is perfectly balanced. Players are forced to make strategic decisions that have short term or long term consequences. It's not going to change.

It may as well not be there. The system is not balanced, it’s flawed. It doesn’t allow a player like me who likes to over-optimise to benefit from this feature. With everything else I am able to optimise perfectly but not with this.

Plan ahead strategically for that's what matters. You have to decide whether it's important to have your heroes down for CWL or for regular wars, or you want to waste the DE. You can't have them all, unless you buy them out. If you think you are having extremely high amount of DE per raid, use DE heavy armies and aim for bases filled upto brim with elixir and gold to speed up your wall upgrades along side. Make some use of that DE.

Yes - effectively this is what I am doing although this is suboptimal. Or the other option is for Supercell to make a change because this is a logical change.

I thought this was a forum to discuss change suggestions implying that we should not just be thinking within the current limitations of the game

Correct. Supercell don't really like people "over-optimising", which is probably at least part of the reason why it works that way.

I’m not sure, on this one it really felt like they hadn’t thought about it and it just happened to coincide because it’s the start of the month. But maybe you are right and this is cunning plan to make us spend more
