[Discussion] Xbow set to Air/Ground VS. Ground

What do you use?

There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

A xbow set to to ground only will have a whooping range of 14 tiles!
Air/Ground xbows will still have a nice range of 11 tiles, but with an ability to attack air targets.

I personally set my xbows to ground only. That is because I am farming in the gold leagues where balloonion/mass dragon raids are a lot rarer than in say crystal III. However, I would assume that xbows should be pointed up when you are trophy pushing. As a user of balloonions, I look for targets with their xbow set to ground only.

What are your thoughts?

I thought about this too one day and came to a final thought, since I am usually Gold-Crystal there are many players attacking with air units. So first they intend to wipe out the air defenses then put in their Air units, so thinking about it it's better having them set to Ground & Air is actually quite useful, although the range is shorter that way....

Ground when all my air defenses are up, otherwise Air+ground, I figured that the probability of people using hogs and giants over balloons or drags was far more likely, at least when farming in gold leagues I guess. xbows are great for putting pressure on ground unit tank dependent raids.

Well I am only Townhall 8 so I don't have x-bows but when I get them I will put them Air and ground... I think its best so it can get all troops not just one type of unit. :)

Xbows in my opinion, should always be set to air/ground. If you have them set down due to farming, I assume you are expecting mainly tier 1 attacks such as barbs, archers etc. The defence AI is so terrible they will all continue to shoot the same troops as the xbow, thus defeating the purpose of the range. Also, I see more dragon attacks while farming in silver/gold.

For me it differs if I'm farming or not. When I farm I set them all on ground, due to the long range attacks. I farm in the 1200-1400 range, so must attacks are all tier 1 troops. When I go on my trophy push I set 2 to ground, and one of them set to both.

For me it's air and ground, just feels like more players would skip a town with them set in this way.

As a brand-new TH9, with my x-bows finishing in a couple of days, this is a very interesting decision. My thoughts are I will keep them up until I have built my fourth AD to lvl 6, and then I will keep it on ground only. What do you guys reckon?
