Yeah maybe a seperate tournament thats essentially exactly the same except runs of resources only??Maybe the winner gets a "bank account??" Where if the winnings were more than the player could hold it went into a bank account that had a short life where it had to be spent so people couldnt just bank it and keep it away from being stolen in a raid?Im not exactly sure how it could work but thats an idea off the top off my head anywayQuote:

The reason I suggested gems as the entrance fee was so that besides being a fun addition to the game it might entice more gem purchases... Remember ultimately gems drive this bus so to speak. Still even without purchases, remember the gems could be pooled and 300 gems across 30-40 members isn't that much. Easily filled by progressing through achievements. People working hard to fill achievements is a good thing I think AND enticing players to stay part of a larger clan without hopping (to help foot the tourney bill) could also be a good thing. I still think SC needs a cut - maybe not 50% but gems need to come out of a the system as tournaments run so gem purchases don't ultimately decrease. We want the cash to continue to flow for SC so they continue work in this great game.

SUPERCELL your fourmers are doing all of the work for you. There are some posts like this that can take an hour just to write not even the planing part. They have even considered your parts into making money! I know you add some ideas from the forums, but not enough. These people ARE the community that are giving you money for you to keep your jobs this is their opinions on what they think the game should be like so. REMEMBER THEY ARE GIVING YOU MONEY! SO instead of waiting a year to think of your own clan ideas, listen to the community and find an idea that you customers like.
This is a well thought out idea and you have my support. Although its not mastermind with pictures I can tell you put alot of thought into this. Good Job

A few comment:
1. I think the GEM pot idea is great for the gem players. But as a free to play game, tournament should also be available to the farmers. So, gem tournament for the gemmers, and resource tournament for the farmers?
2. I like how MPL only count towards your actually base/troop strength so it's very clear how strong a player's asset really is. But I think it's fair a bit of work to do, and a new introduction of ranking system. I think there are already some issues with the exp level and trophy as they don't have a feedback loop build back to the game. So I would be OK with matching using the EXP since it would pretty much do the job,, for less work and complication, and make the idea more executable.
3. I'm torn on the leader/elder assigning base to attack part. I think for some it would be great for doing strategy and things, for others, it's too much commitment and work and process. The time fragmented play is part of mobile game nature, this idea kind clash with that..
4. Last, on the point calculation, I the percentage is measuring the same thing as what the star is measuring, so not sure if the multiplication is needed. But I think town hall level difference and troop cost should be included as part of the point system to promote technique over raw power of $$.

really good idea! a different take on "CLAN WARS" and I hope this is what supercell implements into the game soon!
My one dislike is paying gems to enter, as supercell does not need to make more money of people buying gems, i think it should cost a combination of gold and elixir.
For example, entry for a tournament could cost 8 million gold and 8 million elixir, and maybe 1000 dark elixir, which could be contributed by everyone in the clan.
Just my thoughts, but sound so cool!
Another thing gems do is prevent clans from somehow abusing the system to exchange resources. Now I know we wouldn't be in control of who we are matched up against but we do have to consider this possibility. We can't have any system that can be used to exchange resources. If enough safe guards are in place then I guess gems could be avoided for the entry. As an alternative, the entry in gems could also be much lower than I first outlined.
As for letting the leaders decide match-ups i hear your concern. But I would want a system where the leaders actually lead. I think this would make clan roles more significant - another feature people desperately crave.

It should NEVER be a requirement to use gems, to participate in any aspect of this game. The nature of gems is that they are completely optional, and that should never change.
