Why is GoWiPe highly discouraged? please respond because if i am to join your clan, i have to know before i join.
For TH8, it's a very reliable strategy against the right bases. Often bases that are hard to hog will be easy to gowipe, and vice versa. At TH8, you should master at least 2, if not all 3 major attacks (hogs, dragons, gowipe) if you plan on doing a lot of war.
At TH9, it stops getting 3-stars so it's better to spend the time getting comfortable with Hogs, GoHo and/or GoVaLo while you're still in the training grounds of TH8. This will be the difference between going to TH9 and being a 1/2 star attacker, and being a 3-star attacker right off the bat.
IMO, its major flaw is that people become over-reliant on the one strategy and don't adapt their attacks. I skipped GoWiPe entirely on my main, and only recently started using it with my TH8 alt after I'd already mastered hogs and dragons.
Protips to 3-star with GoWiPe:
1) Make sure you know how to funnel
2) Have a plan for the backend; poor attackers call it a 2-star strategy because they do not plan for what happens when your army is stuck in the middle getting fired on from all sides. This is where a few loons or hogs takes it from 2 to 3 star.
